I'm pretty sure there isn't a team in America that wouldn't trade their last 7 seasons for Bama's.

Objectivity and respect from a rival on the rant. My head just exploded.

Alabama has a coach who didn't go 0-2 against Drischamp.

Didn't bama lose to mighty Louisiana- Monroe that year?

Yes they did. So what. Most great coaches struggle in their first year. There's a huge difference between teams struggling in a coach's first year compared to their second year. Most great coaches at a top school turn the program around and win big by their second year. Bob Stoops, Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer all won national championships in their second year. Pete Carroll took USC to a major bowl game and a top 5 finish in his second year. Saban won the SEC at LSU and went 12-2 at Bama in his second season. By their second season, a coach has had two full off-seasons to coach up his players and improve them. Unless the school's been riddled with sanctions or is just a lesser program in general like a Vanderbilt, a top coach don't need more time than that to drastically improve the fortunes of a football program.

The coaching changes caused roster attrition at Tennessee that turned out to be very much like sanctions. Not to mention Dooley.

Doesn't*

If you expect any team that travels to #4 Oklahoma for their first away game with a team full of freshmen, and an O-line with zero experience and expect them to win, then I don't know what to tell you.

Okay, we're going around in circles here. I'll end it with this. There's no more excuses for Butch this year. He'll have three full recruiting classes under his belt. Their schedule is very favorable. Bama is their only tough road test. Games against Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Georgia will all be at home. Florida is down and the SEC East is very ripe for the taking. If Tennessee doesn't win big this year, they'll never be a consistent national championship contender under Butch. Take that to the bank.

Alabama suffered similar problems in the Shula years and Saban had it all corrected by year two.

The same #4 Oklahoma that finished the season 8-5 and unranked....one win better than Tennessee? That #4 Oklahoma?

Like I said in my first post, I expect 9-4 this year, but we could jump up and snag the east. I'm just not sure we have the depth yet. But our first 22 are very good.

Yes, that Oklahoma, that was coming off a big bowl win against bama. They lost to really good teams........TCU ( we saw what they did to ole miss who beat bama) and Baylor. They also suffered tons of injuries down the stretch of the season.

Lets just overlook the fact that was year one for Saban and he already had a BCS title and two SEC titles on his resume.

Tennessee fans still blaming Dooley entering year three.

Saban is not walking through that door, nor is a #1 recruiting class.

SEC offices not moving.
REC not changing allegiance.

And zero fricks were given in 2015.

But hey, whatever floats Tennessee's boat these days.

Why Dooley has been gone for 2 years? And also when is Butch going to start coaching his recruited players up to get past the 6-7 and 7-6 threshold?

Bottomline:
If the Vols don't show vast improvement this year, Jones will have lost the "surge" factor with recruiting and fan support. After that, it's downhill again.
