As great as Fournette is... Bama's D is built to stop him.

We don't have to have a special plan on D for him... It's the mobile QB's and HUNH offenses that give us trouble and we have had to adapt to.

Our D will be in everything from a 4-3, 3-4, and 5-3 depending on the LSU offensive formation and the down and distance...

We will stack the box on some plays when we expect run, while we will not on others in which we expect pass. And we will audible in and out of these formations and plays as the offense changes...

We will sub in certain special packages for 3rd down as well... depending on the down and distance.

Thinking that Bama will come out playing one type of defense the whole game or even the whole first drive is just plain dumb. LSU's offense allows us to adjust often... and we will adjust....

I just think people are stupid when they ask what formation a defense will play for an entire game...like stacking the box?

It's fricking dumb... it's like asking if LSU will be in the I formation for the whole game.

You could have stopped here and you would have been on to something.

Instead you wrote a novel when your ultimate point was BAMA IS GREAT PAWL. EVEN LEONARD FOURNETTE WON'T RUN ON US. NO WAY BAMA LOSES.

That expecting crap is gonna get you beat. Expect run/pass all you want. All it takes is a handoff to Fournette, a flip back to Harris, and a bomb to Dupree to shut that thought down.

No one is expecting Bama to run one base the whole night, but ask anyone who played or coached defense, there will be a focus on a few specific coverages based on what the opposing team does best and most frequently. just like an offense will plan on doing certain things differently based on their opponent's defensive strengths. They still do what they do best most, but they may do it differently (for instance LSU's strength is running the ball, but rather than trying to run it up the middle against that front seven, we will likely attack the edges often.) So what will be Bama's game plan is still a valid question. Will they let the safties play deep to stop the PA deep ball, or will they play them closer to watch for quick slants and run support? Do you lean toward 3-4 or 4-3 on a first and ten? Do you play prevent zone or press man coverage on third and long?

Watch some of our games. We go hurry up sometimes to expose teams like that. Cam might go slow during one possession but opens things up in others. He has that ability especially with our offense right now. Honestly I'm not worried about y'alls personnel packages. I think we match up.

This game is about real football. Beating your man and forcing your will on the other team.

I think LSU can run on anyone, and we will run. Should be a good game. I like the Tigers

No, that's your novel... my novel is some people don't realize defenses change schemes as games progress...

And that it's easier to change schemes when they can sub in the players they want.

You think Bama is gonna come out in a 5-3 when LSU is spread out on a 3rd and 10... or that Bama is gonna be in a 3-4 on a LSU 3rd and 1 when they are bunched up with two tight ends??? It's just dumb.

Really? Where I can I get a copy? I mean, I thought Bama was gonna come out in a 5-3 when LSU was spread out on 3rd and 10, or even 3rd and 11.

Yep. Almost started a thread asking if LSU will change up the way they use him. Screen passes, options, maybe some misdirection plays... It will be hard to just pound him up the middle, we saw that with Georgia and Chubb.

Na, your defense may be designed to stop Fournette, but you have yet to face a Oline with as much push as LSU. You've had great defenses before and yet we've run on you with lesser talent at Oline and rb.

UGA doesn't have near the talent on online nor do they have a dual threat QB that looks to pass 1st and foremost.
