Given the train wreck the East is this year, and pretty much every year, the VERY BEST thing the SEC front office could do would be to shuffle the divisions and drop the permanent opponents. Move Bama and Auburn to the East, Vandy and Mizzou to the west. This avoids the SEC having to go to an unbalance 9 game schedule and retains the traditional rivalries (Bama vs Tennessee, Auburn vs UGA and the Iron bowl). This year, it would (likely) feature the two best teams in the league (LSU and Bama) in the SECCG in Atlanta.

It also gets schools and a 4 year rotation to see each other rather than the 8-9-10 year (or what ever it is) cycle it is now.

Let's do this, LEEEROOOOYYY! JENKINS!!!!!!!!

LOL
So the West would be:
LSU
A&M
Vandy
Mizzou
Miss St
Ole Miss
Arkansas

That's almost as unbalanced as the BIG10

Nope. It's a shortsighted overreaction. The East was typically better for the first 10-15 years after the '92 expansion. Power will gradually shift again.

How about no divisions and a constantly rotating schedule. Top two, which would be best two, play in sec championship. No repeat match ups in playoffs. Just sayin

The big SEC rivalries are a big draw to the SEC. They're why people tune in. They're what make the SEC great. They're never going away.

Why don't you petition Alleva and Miles to vote for a 9 game conference schedule?

Every program in the conference with the exception of Bama has voted it down.....Why?

TN is on the verge of being a national contender.

Florida is already back being a national contender and will only get stronger.

Georgia will likely make a great hire and will be a national contender in a couple years.

The East is actually looking like it is set up to have some really great years in the next few years.

How about 13 conference games in a round robin, no need for a Champ game, no cupcakes, SEC champ has a guaranteed playoff spot?

There are 5-6 elite SEC programs depending on if you want to count Tennessee (Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee). I'm speaking of the programs and not the current football team status.

Right now the west has 3 and the east has 3. Divisions are fine the way they are, you can't change them based on a few years where one is a lot better than the other.

Auburn to the East and Mizzou to the West makes sense.
Go to 9 game SEC schedule with 1 cross divisional permanent team.

The East will rise again, the East used to be the stronger division. and will be again.
