When do you predict he comes out from under Saban's wing and where do you think he will land. I love coach Mac, and hope he stays a long time but hypothetically speaking, if we had an opening (Mac left for some reason) I'd be willing to take a chance.

He will be the next auburn head coach.

Wasn't he named coach in waiting?

How many couches would burn if he went to Florida and extended the streak against Tennessee

Second best overall coach in the SEC

I kind of think this will be his last year if the offense looks good. This will be his third year. Maybe one more year (a 4th) at most.
A lot of people assumed this was about a two year deal that would either fail (Kiffin gets fired) or succeed (Kiffin gets another HC gig). It's been two very successful years so I think the clock is ticking til Kiffin gets another HC opportunity.
I think it will be a power 5 school outside of the SEC, but have no clue where.

He needs one more good, uneventful (off field) year to finally let the whole Tennessee/USC thing wash out of people's minds.
If we have another really good offensive year (and we should), he will get a shot somewhere next year. What he is looking for and willing to accept is a different question, though.

If he's smart, he will do what Kirby did...wait until a good HC job comes open. If he takes the wrong HC job--after all he's been through--his career as a HC may be done and I think he knows that. Patience is a virtue, not sure Lane has it but we'll see.

I hope he isn't a head coach in the sec. He will always be a slime ball in my mind and I don't want him near our conference. Send him to Oklahoma.

Not until his divorce is final.

Some Pac-12 school most likely

Lane is fantastic in his current capacity but has been a total failure as a HC pretty much everywhere he's been. That's not a knock on him, some people hafve diffrerent strenghts. Willie martinez was a dadgum terrific DB coach for us, lousy DC. It happens.
I for one am quite shocked that lane has done as well as he has at bama, definitely shut me up a bit. But the guy just isn't a HC IMO.

Lane Kiffin is Lane Kiffin. He will win you some games as OC if you have a ton of talent.
As HC... when two of the three Head Coaching jobs you had not only fired you, but pissed on your forehead on the way out the door... there just might be something to worry about there.
And the Vols, who didn't have time to fire him, want to piss on his forehead.
I will put it this way. We've had, in this year, two videos of Lane Kiffin somehow getting himself locked out of the stadium. Bear Bryant would have never been locked out of the stadium... and if he had been there would be a line of dead bodies following him.

Yeah, but think about how young he was when he got those opportunities. He clearly wasn't ready, and to his detriment IMO he kept falling up. But now he's learning under one of the best and most likely has matured. I'm not counting him out yet.

would be great for him. I mean, there's not any shame in NOT wanting to be a HC. It's not like you HAVE to be one.
He's proven to be very successful as an OC there, he's part of a machine, will always have talent, is coaching under the best in the business, etc etc. If I was lane I'd stay bama's OC for as long as I could then retire.
