Ramsey's actually a redshirt sophomore. Some people think Bauta has a chance to start, but I don't think he has a shot in hell, and if he does start I'll be incredibly worried. The UVA transfer has looked fine, but definitely isn't blowing people away. He is a graduate transfer and that's the reason he's able to play right away. I've heard from some people involved with the team that he will start because he wouldn't come here to sit the bench, but I'm not sure if I believe that.

He is. Redshirted his sophomore year due to injury.

I browse some of the team forums to see what's going on with some of the teams that have question marks. Yall's situation has been funny to follow. I think at points there's been "insider information" that's implied every one of the QBs was the favorite to start.

Exactly. That we're burning redshirts, that Coker is the secret starter, that Morris is really the starter in an upset. All in all we speculate.

I speculate Coker. I also speculate it won't really matter, as we are converting to a much shorter game and most of the QBs on our roster can play that game.

Sounds like a good prop bet brewing.

What would you rather see, given the 2 choices?

Seems this is an easy year as you guys pick up @ Morgantown next year, and if the younger kid gets hurt this year what happens.

Hijacking the thread but how do you feel about this? Ignoring the coach speak about offenses over the last couple of years, do you embrace it or find it blasmophis?

I hated it when Auburn took the leap fwiw.

My guess, and it's a pure guess, is Ramsey because he has some game reps under his belt last year.

If it were me, I'd dress out the true freshman this year. He's only going to be at Mizzou for 3 years more than likely so why waste one of those years with him running a scout team. Let him work the offense, get a series here and there this year and see if he can unseat Mauk as starter next year. Pretty much cuts against everything GP has done as of late, but he's literally showed out so well I'm not sure GP can avoid playing him.

Without looking the numbers up, the true freshman has a rating of like 180 and 10yds/catch and nearly an 80% completion percentage. Mauk's numbers are nearly half of each of those, literally.

I kinda figured he would win it but hadn't heard anything. What's the word on how he's looked in camp? Obviously good enough to win the job, but already good chemistry with the WR's y'all got down there?

He has some pretty good chemistry with them and by all accounts learned the playbook quicker than expected. For how dumb he is off the field, apparently he's pretty smart in the film room and on the field. His deep ball is the best we've seen in Oxford since maybe Eli (although that's not really saying much), we're just trying to make sure he doesn't take too many risks that get our defense into trouble.

Well, technically he has not been burned just for dressing. It is when he actually enters it gets burned.

When you say just 3 years, does that include this year as well even if he redshirts?

Personally I'm fine with it. I think it gives us the best chance to win, and I think Kiffin will do great running it.

When we had Julio, we didn't have the QB. When we had Cooper, we started to shift to those QBs that could make the throws for Cooper. Now we don't have that superstar WR, we're going to shift back.

I get that and figured it was understood. If he dresses, he'll get into games.

From all accounts, just 3 years even if he redshirts this year. He's supposedly showed out that well with everything and everywhere he's gone. But who knows. Kid can always fizzle out. Ya never know. But he has some real talent and is mature beyond his years.

I think our fans may be going a bit overboard with the "only here for 3 years" thing. Let's see how it plays out.

It does seem the plan is to play him though. We have 3 games to start that we should win handily and that would give us a chance to see what we really have. He's been dam near unstoppable in scrimmages, but those aren't games. We'll see.i suspect he'll play very well this Saturday and we'll have a true QB controversy on our hands.

What is sad is that Mauk has been stoppable and he's usually going against the #2 defense. Not running with backup offensive players going against our #1 defense like Lock.

We're gonna go QB by committee again.

But seriously, we don't know yet. Mason has stated that the team has been told and that the reps are divided appropriately between #1, #2, and the rest.

This is a good thing for you. Of course, you already knew that. Les on the other hand...

Les knows it too, and has maintained Harris has had a "lead" all throughout fall camp...he just thinks not naming a starter until game week he's promoting as much competition as possible. The problem is even those 2 know who's starting, reports have said Jennings has "mentally lost it" this fall. Lots of hanging heads/arms folded on the sidelines watching Harris just blow him out the water.

Nope. I think it will be Ramsey, but we haven't named a starter as far as I'm aware.

I've only seen Ramsey against Louisville last year. He looked terrible. Are UGA fans happy he is going to win the QB job?
