If Texas and LSU were to play each other...

who would the aggies root for?
A few months ago, everyone would agree they would root for LSU because they hate Texas more (little bro syndrome). However, lately they seem to be monitoring the status of LSU's program more than LSU fans. Along with criticizing and laughing at every move LSU makes. Its like they want us to hate them, so we can officially be rivals and be what Texas used to be to them while they were in the big12. Its just like when a woman leaves an abusive relationship, she ends up attracting a guy that hits her just as much, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT SHE WANTS.
Put the 50 shades of Grey books down, A&M fans. LSU doesn't need or want a rival.
Love us or Hate us, its still an obsession.

I figured juxtaposing the aggy threads about lsu in two days with lsu threads about aggy you could make your point better.

I would pull for LSU as would most Ags. Likely pull for LSU against most teams outside the SEC.

aggies are old friends not new but it doesn't matter because what i said was true regardless. granted a nice size chunk of the laughter has been from the ridiculous reactions of lsu fans- going from suicidal yesterday to celebrating today and the like.

Here is the difference:
I will laugh at a shitty LSU hire, and enjoy a melt, but deep down I know a good LSU program is good for A&M. We need yall to be relevant, so that way if we are ever relevant we can start to eat up the mindshare in this state through our annual game. Basically yall are our best chance to ever have an game as significant in the state as the RRR, but that requires yall to continue to be a top program.
Meanwhile Texas being good does nothing for us. All it does is makes it harder to get talent, or force us to share the limited amount of attention Texans give to non-pro sports.
So if LSU played Texas tomorrow, or OU, or TCU, or ANY freaking Big 12 team that we compete with for talent- then

I would say 99% of Ags would root for LSU in a Texas/LSU matchup. Personally I would root for an Al Queda/Nazi/ISIS All Star team against Texas. Simply because we don't play Texas currently doesn't erase over 100 years of hate and we have to live and breathe with sips on a daily basis.
Where it would get interesting would be an LSU/Baylor matchup. I don't know how that would go until gametime but I'm guessing I would be yelling "Geaux Tigaaaaahs!" about 2 minutes in to it.
I actually like most LSU folks I know and see most of their Tiger Baiting as good fun. Sips and Baylor fans are just obnoxious assholes for the most part. Sips truly believe they are the elite of the elite and no one is even in their category of greatness. Baylor fans are sips fans that couldn't get in to Texas or A&M but their rich parents decided to send them to Baylor for a Texas State education at 4 times the price.

All of this is good fun. All of this is passionate fans caring about the actual sport. This what makes the SEC tick.
You know what most online Big 12 vs Aggy slugfests are about? Not a coordinator, or a coach, a player, a play or a season. It is about how WEIRD we fricking are, and how we DISGRACE the state based on their five page thesis on how we treat our dog. Their level of intensity does not fit the nature of sports content (which lets be honest doesn't matter in the scheme of things), and LSU fans are honestly a breath of fresh air in comparison.
