Is he a better coach than he was when he was at LSU, or did he have better players to start with beings that it took him 4 yrs at LSU.

I don't think so. I think it's just a "right time" thing.

Surely he's a better coach. Coaches learn with every year/experience. I'm sure his time in the NFL gained him a lot but I don't think all that has to do with the # of years it took him to win a Title at LSU/Bama.

ESPECIALLY since he hasn't won it yet. I don't see it happening but he does have a tendency to lose the ones he's "not supposed to".

"Saban has a tendency to lose the ones he's not supposed to"

ULM..FLORIDA ('08) UTAH.

ULM was a loss in '07 his first year we went 7-6 then.

The Florida loss last year spilled over to the UTAH game PARTLY because our team was dejected losing a shot at the NC then being cocky and over confident UTAH would be a pushover. I'm not blaming all that on Saban Our guys mostly were to blame.

My God some of our fans seem like jealous ex's.

My point would be the same for miles who is bashed by some fans. He won the NC in his 3rd year, so does that make him a better coach than he was at okie state or did he have better players. Thats the point i was making. Think!!!

It's illogical to compare the scenarios.

There are so many different variables in play that there is no way you could deduce a plausible comparison.

Think!!!

Why not? What is so different? They both play sec schedules, they both recruit well. I was hoping more bama fans would post on this, they seem to be a little shy.

But we don't really talk about him as much as people think. But if we do bring him up, everyone screams about how obsessed we are. And then THEY start threads about Da Bear.

Really? What is so different about a three year span from 2000-2003 and 2005-2007?

Besides rule changes, different SEC opponents, different OOC opponents, weather, Strength of opposing teams, Injuries, Different Players, Different Coaches, Different Athletic Directors, Different Chancellors, Different players available to recruit and Ka-fricking-trina...yeah, I can't think of any differences.

The motto of Louisianians: "It was Katrina's fault."
