If Ole Miss and MSU weren't in the SEC, who might be trying to add them?

Just a random thought this morning. The Big Ten wouldn't, and presumably not the ACC. Would the Big 12 add them? Or the Big East?

Certainly they would get into a BCS conference.

Good question.

Problem is you can get what TV market there is by taking only one of them. Taking both actually reduces TV revenue for all members.

I could see the Big 12 trying to add 1... probably Miss St.

Ole Miss I'm not too sure about. Probably Big East in my estimation. I would definitely see Ole Miss and Miss St. having to go to 2 different BCS conferences just because of the TV thing. Must also be said that Ole Miss has some past and more recent baggage that might not go over well in other conferences.

I give these guys shite but the truth is, I was born in Mississippi and I love the state. I just don't see what these two schools bring to the table in an expansion bid. No TV markets, no historical strength in any major sports. You could seriously argue that Vanderbilt brings more to the table with their academic strength and their historically solid basketball team.

It would never happen, but if you merged the 2 universities, that would be a powerhouse football program. With that being said, a BCS conference would take ole miss over miss state, all day erryday

No, she'd be afraid you would underperform like all your sports programs and leave her unsatisfied and feeling like she was having to support you.

Sorry a legitimate question reminds you of the reality that you are pathetic. Feel free to explain why I was wrong and you would be added to a major conference. I'd like to hear the argument.

Why is it retarded? You just don't like being reminded that you aren't a legitimate member of the conference. Rather than lash out like a 5 year old, how about arguing the point?

ACC or Big 12. The ACC would be a fit if they also took Auburn. You get new footprint states. The SEC does not really need two schools in small states like Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. So Auburn, Vandy and one of the Mississippi schools could switch.

We "deal with it" every year. Vanderbilt gives us a better game, and we have to share conference money with you while you reminisce about whiter days. If you had any self respect, you'd take a conference pay cut.

Too bad Bama should've acquired better negotiating skills. We love money we've done nothing to gain

You don't think academics would rule out the ACC? They like to believe they are academically superior.

I get constantly reminded by the Big Ten that they are "more than just a sports conference", that they have an academic association as well.
