5 would turn to 6.
No LF7 next season, no direction, no hope of getting over that mental wall that is Alabama.
Nick Saban will have officially put the dagger in what he once tried to build in Baton Rouge. The culture of competition, playing to a standard the consistency in performance will all be gone, GONE! !

But what if Alabama loses to LSU? Do they mentally check out, ala 2010, and also drop the IB?

We rebound with neat little trip to the playoffs where we curb stomp Washington's overrated arse then embarrass Harbough and Michigan in the title game by about 35 points

Idk about the team, but I won't check out. I don't expect to win against Bama. If we lose to yall and then win out beating Florida, Arkansas, and A&M I'd be pretty happy. I think we can all agree that if we started the year without Miles we'd be undefeated.

So if we lose to Bama, then win out, I'll count this year as a 10-1 year

Oh yeah and the OP is scared.

Very unlikely. Even with a loss we have learned to play with a purpose. Hardware encluded.

LSU's playing with found money right now.

If LSU loses, the focus goes to hiring a coach and all of the new optimism that comes with that.
