I'm glad I went to Alabama where we can afford to pay our players every year. Sucks y'all gotta save up and can only pay them every 4.

there have been some interesting cycles, such as 3 national titles in a four year span:
Notre Dame - 1946, 1947, 1949
Nebraska - 1994, 1995, 1997
Alabama - 2009, 2011, 2012
The 11 year cycle, somewhat:
Notre Dame - 1966, 1977, 1988 (the somewhat refers to the 1973 title mixed in that trend)
There was the every 2 year cycle for Miami in 1987, 1989, 1991.
Oklahoma played for the first three BCS national titles that were in Miami (2000, 2004, 2008)
USC had the 5 year rule winning 3 national titles in 10 years - 1962, 1967, 1972
There was national championship controversy in four straight decades ending in the #3 - 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003
1980-1984 was 5 straight seasons of first time national champions, and that is likely to never be done again.
