If LSU beats Alabama...would that be enough to secure Miles for another season?

well if we beat bama while miles is still coaching then that likely means we have managed to win the west, so yes he would still be here another year.

the other option is a bad LSU team struggling for its bowl life beats bama with Coach O in control.

Yeah, but all they really need is another super bowl win over aggy. Les will be carried off the field again and maybe even get a Gatorade bath.

I don't think he survives only winning 5 games.

Not if he doesn't win the West, or at least win 10 games. Beating Alabama is not, by itself, enough to keep his job, nor is losing to Alabama, by itself, enough to cost him his job. Les isn't in trouble for losing to Alabama, he's in trouble for losing to too many other teams as well. He has 10 SEC losses in the last three years, and only three of those were to Alabama. That's why he's likely in his final season.

It's a game we all want to win. If Les only wins FIVE total games, he is gone. I don't give a shite who he beats

Sounds like you're willing to sacrifice Bama losing to LSU this season to ensure that they keep Miles.

Depends on who else he beats. If they lose a game before that, beat Bama then turn around and lose to Arkansas and or A&M he still gets fired. The narrative will be- the team is good enough to to beat Bama but Miles cost them games against lesser squads.

If he goes 5-7 he could beat Bama, the Cowboys, the patriots, the packers and the 1985 bears and he's still getting fired.
