It won't hurt either school in football, especially since A&M is recruiting more and more in traditional SEC territory (LA, FL, and MS). It will probably hurt Texas.

It could hurt A&M in basketball recruiting.

What the frick are you talking about? That's like saying A&M competes with Blinn.

Tulane to the big 12 would not be good for LSU. Being the only p5 team in state is huge.

Yes it would.

Do you have any idea of what Tulane's facilities are like?

Facilities get upgraded real fast when you start cashing those P5 checks.

Traditionally, the Greater Houston kids who come to LSU are dead set on leaving home as well as playing for a proven winner. I'd guess the negative impact on aTm would be greater.

It won't hurt LSU, we would suffer a little depending on it that coach stays there or not. Houston is like Boise St. They won't be around forever.

Wrong. Tulane being in a p5 conference in New Orleans would be like Rice in a p5 conference in Houston. A tiny academics first school with a tiny fanbase in a city that cares about local pro sports first and then out-of-town college sports -- LSU in Tulane's case and A&M/Texas in the case of Rice. The only difference is that Rice has a huge stadium it can't fill while Tulane quit renting out the Superdome after it built a 30,000 seat on campus stadium it now has trouble filling up.

Tulane will never steal in-state recruits from LSU, but if Tulane did get into the Big 12 it would hurt out of state schools coming in to poach Louisiana recruits that LSU doesn't have room for on its roster.

While I don't think the impact on either school would be big, the rest of your post is completely asinine.

Houston to Big 12 would actually help Texas (and other Big 12 schools), IMO.

The Big 12's problem is not that they're over saturated with good teams, it's the opposite. Hard to bring the best kids to your school when they don't get to play anyone. And Texas screwed up the Big 12 so bad that Houston is their best option to help correct it.

Typical UT tard thinking to want to play the easiest teams possible and then wondering why no one wants to play for them.

Seems like it would effect Arkansas . Houston would get better recruits but still would not get many in the level that LSU and A&M get . But they could get the middle level power 5 recruits that Arkansas gets.

The Big 12 would legitimize Tulane Football. I think we'd see some effect

It would be kinda hard for the Big 12 to legitimize Tulane football when Tulane won't even legitimize Tulane football.

LSU gets whoever they want in Htown.

LSU very much wanted Ed Oliver, the #2 player in Texas, a five star defensive tackle who went to Houston Westfield high school. During his junior year he wrote LSU on the side of his helmet during games.

He signed with Houston.
