The coaching was dumb....took it out of his hands and into the hands of a QB that isn't good.

This was a bad decision especially since it looked like they were going for it 4th down regardless of what happened on 3rd down anyway.

Also, why did Spurrier go for it on 4th and 1 at the 10 yard line? It didn't turn out to hurt them but it could have cost them the game. People want to give Butch hell for gameday coaching but Spurrier's gameday coaching the last several years has been erratic.

Except USC didn't have their "heavies" in vs UNC. They had their lighter, quicker DT's in because UNC is a spread team and sideline to sideline speed is important....
SC did just fine slowing down Gurley last year (131 yards on 20 carries) with lesser d-line talent.
