I think he would be a pretty good coach and would be able to turn a program around. He kind of has an Urban Meyer vibe. If Tennessee or LSU hired someone like him, I would actually be a little bit "scared".

You should be scared now. Petersen is a giant slayer.

I'm not underestimating him or the Huskies - I'm just saying, if he did come to an SEC school (which is unlikely), you bet he would be able to do some excellent recruiting and probably build a strong program that could compete with Bama regularly.

We had our chance to get him and we blew it. We had our chance to get Gary Patterson, and we completely fricked that up too.

I hope Mike Hamilton is found dead in a broken down gas station restroom with his head shoved up his own arse.

I don't know about his recruiting in the SEC being a Scientologist.

Funny all these SEC schools passed him over for beauties like Chizik, Smart, Muschamp, Bert, Butch, Dooley, O and whoever Mizzou's coach is.

Would we be more accepting of Scientology?

I disagree. He seems like a good guy, not a scumbag like Urban.

He wants no part of the SEC, several teams have tried to lure him.

He will get all 5 stars because of his Cruise voodoo.

LOL, except he's not. Somebody on a board got him mixed up with a different dude a few years back. Is that still going around? Regardless, I think some SEC teams would hire one now if it meant success.

Yeah, there's no way he'd come to an SEC school. Especially if he went to one that has to go head-to-head vs. Alabama. But, I think if he did, he would be able to build something. Just by reminding people of success at Boise State and the fact he got Washington to the playoffs (even if they wind up losing, getting there is a huge success) I think he'd be able to do a lot more than even he realizes.

When you're as good as him, he can live wherever he wants. Seattle is a pretty good place to be a millionaire.

Dial the homer down just a touch.

You make him seem like a scared, insecure guy. I think you're way off on that assumption. He was born and raised in California. Started his coaching career out there too. The closest to the south he's been, was one season 24 years ago, as a QB coach at Pittsburg. He's a West coast guy. If anything, USC was stupid for not throwing everything they had at him instead of Sark.

I mean, the guy himself said today that he wasn't holding the "We Want Bama" signs up, that's all I meant by that. He seems pretty humble, and I think any coach with common sense would not want to face Alabama in the regular season like Tennessee and LSU do. That's all I meant by that.

And the secondary comment I don't think comes off as sounding insecure, but again, he comes off more humble and cautious and not as big-headed as, say, Jim Harbaugh. Ya know?

LOL. no you didn't. Neither of them were ever interested. Washington was the only job Peterson wanted. He's a NW guy, and has a child with cancer whose doctors are in the northwest. And GP has never had wanted to leave TCU.
