If a women's sport gets a death penalty does it affect anything due to Title IX?

I am assuming mens programs would not be affected but I could not find anything about it.

They still must be equal... don't know if you get some sort of compliance window to adapt to the peculiar situation.

OM would need to add another women's sport (SEC sponsored or otherwise) with the same # of scholarships, or add scholarships to existing programs (if there were room) right away.

Short term it could be HUGE for the ladies club bowling team. Lol

We could pick up lacrosse and play schools like Millsaps and Swanee.

The big worry is dodging the "lack of institutional control".

I think common sense would say no, the 'equal numbers' rule should get a waiver in this instance. Rules aren't always interpreted by 'common sense' though, so I guess the most likely outcome would be to also give a men's program the death penalty.

I wonder what all the WBB program did that's so bad. When I think of cheating to maintain a winning program or be one, I don't exactly think of OM WBB.
