I never thought Coach Saban would start a true freshman at quarterback

But it really is pointing in that direction. Iv been a huge Blake Barnett supporter, but this kid is good. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bateman get about 2 series or so to start against USC but nothing has ever proved he will do anything to keep a kid like Hurts from taking his job. It will be exciting to see it unfold.

Just a month ago, you guys weren't worried at all about your starting QB. It seems now, everyday there is a new thread about Hurts starting.

What gives?

Whoever starts against USC will just be handing the ball off to a running back. I look for Bama to run the ball 50 to 60 times in that game.

True freshman qbs don't ever has as much talent around them as they would at Alabama.

If an Alabama quarterback plays multiple games against lsu it is a fact that he will lose a game to lsu. So this freshman will lose a game to lsu if he plays lsu more than once if history holds serve.

Bama losses to LSU and Ole Miss are both rare and really don't mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Does Bama downgrade from RB though? I think so. I heard early in the offseason that this will be a more pass-happy offense with 5* Blake Barnett at the helm.

No true freshman QB can win the SEC with Bama's road schedule. Bama loses at least two of these four road games: at Ole Miss, at Arkansas, at Tennessee and at LSU

Well, Henry is obviously gone. But we have 2 5*s and a good freshman in BJ Emmons. I think the rbs will be fine. I think all 3 qbs are capable of winning a national championship for us. Just finding the best is difficult.

yeah, if there's one thing i've learned to worry about under saban, it's the threat of a running game not existing ... i mean, we've had soooooo many years where the run game was not a factor at all ... just worries me to death ...

We started a converted RB at QB and still won the SEC and made the CFP. Trust in Saban.
