Pat Dye's last game was in Legion Field.

I was at the game and the auburn players walked onto the field, rather than run, with their helmets held up. That gimmick didn't help as Auburn was shut-out and Dye resigned in disgrace.

And... BAMA went on to win the National Championship that year. Good time indeed.

But they didn't play at Legion Field. I was trying to give some good memories of Legion Field.

The late 80s, the mid-2000s, and 2013. Three times Auburn 100% convinced themselves they were finally going to overtake Alabama and run the state. All three times it amounted to nothing significant and Bama soon put that notion to rest.

No, everyone knew 2010 was a one-off season including Auburn fans

The "dynasty over" came in 2013

It was also the place of Bear Bryant's last home game where he walked off with his head hung in disgrace. The poor bastard couldn't take it so he quit then fricking died!!!!! Good times indeed!!!

Huntsville is the only city outside of Auburn (would still need a good reason even though I love it) that I would be fine living in. Birmingham and Montgomery offer nothing and Mobile has a reallllly bad drive to the airport.

The scene of the crime for sure.

When Dye put the first, and last, nail in Bear's coffin.
