I expect a good game this weekend but MSU has to play its best game of the year. Not just physically but mentally as well. I hope they are smarter than LSU in that dept. They can't afford to shove or fight a bama player. They can't afford to so much as sniff a bama receiver and they certainly don't need any foolish penalties suck as kicking the ball out of bounds on a kickoff. Bama is good enough WITHOUT any help-they do not need any gracious gifts bestowed on them like the Tigers did. MSU needs to play hard but even more so....SMARTER!!!

I will be pulling for the Dawgs, but as a lover of melts I can't help but ponder with great anticipation the intensity and timbre of the MSU best season ever ruined by the most evil team in the SEC melt of 2014.

I seriously dont think weve played a solid, complete game this year. If we happen to have that game this weekend, could get ugly imo

As long as he doesn't fall behind Freeze in the dumb arse category, I'll be ok. Mullen is at least progressing every year in learning to become a very good head coach. Sometimes still does some headscratchers but he usually doesn't do them twice.
Unlike Freeze who continues to believe he can out smart coaches that usually end up eating his arse for breakfast. He'll always have two games a year he costs them the game. But the bad part is he doesn't even hesitate before throwing one of his players under the bus to take the blame off himself. You NEVER see successful coaches doing that.

1. We could still lose 2/3 and still have the best season in MSU history. So, as much as I recognize how close we are to playing for a NC, a 10 win regular season is freaking great.

2. As a fellow melt lover, no matter the outcome, an awesome melt is coming this weekend. I would suggest the BAMA melt would be better than the MSU melt.

I can't imagine a STATE melt period. Maybe by alters but we still have a lot to play for even if Bama beats us.

That fake punt that Mullen pulled against Auburn was a big head-scratcher.

I think we will see some new wrinkles in this game. All chips on the table.

Sure hope one isn't a special teams play to be cute.

If you keep the score reasonable and beat Ole Miss, you're in.

Upvoted because you're seriously saying Freeze hasn't progressed in each of his three years.

Edit: And arguing stupidity with stupidity is no way to win an argument.

Agree. And this is not like We Believe.

The fans have been pretty quiet. The media is ALL Bama so that I am sure the 'no one thinks you are real' card will be played with our team.

We lose to Bama and Ole Miss and this season will be a disappointment but DAK will come back and the Spring and Summer will heal the wounds of what could have been. State fans are pretty damn realistic.

Your coach said you plan to single cover Amari Cooper, so you aren't off to a good start on the intelligent though process.

If Collins and Townsend are telling the truth and that's really their plan and not some smokescreen then Cooper will have one of his better days Saturday.

Not really sure what you read. Didn't say your team hasn't progressed but do you really see Freeze play calling as improving? Mullen's? Hell yeah. Sometimes he does get too cute. That ain't calling him stupid. His game management is much better than Freeze. They both needed time to learn to be head coaches. I think it's obvious which has progressed more. But I'm a State fan so don't ask me. Let's ask the other ranters. But next time just try to read a little more careful.

Further, they both came in with a certain system or philosophy. Seemingly, Freezes offense was better early on. Now he has better offensive weapons that he wanted but the offense has regressed. Mullen's has improved as he has gotten his type players.
