They aren't sucking Alabama's balls this season. I do not see Alabama in any of their promos. I don't really hear them talking Bama 24/7. There's no Nick Saban eating soft and warm things commercials... There's no hot Alabama Chick asking Who's In with a cute little A logo on her cheek

Is ESPN pissed off at Alabama or something? It's actually kind of strange

Now, all I see is LSU and UGA on all of their promos, etc.

What did Nicky do to upset ESPN so much?

Bama/Wisconsin gets brought up like 5 times a game from the promos and most games have had banter about the game.

Most analysts I've seen have Bama in the Final Four.

One of us is just missing what the other is seeing. Could be me. Not calling you stupid, just stating what I've seen. Like I said, could be me.

ETA: Also the full length "Who's In?" commercial with Urban Meyer shows a literal Crimson Tide multiple times.

I actually like Alabama and Saban. In fact I like to watch a lot of the SEC Games each week. But, something seems off this season with ESPN and Alabama

ESPN is ACC first and Free Shoes gave them ACC product to promote. GT will get press till you fail at the end so don't get your stinger all hard just to go limp early.

Alabama gets the best tv ratings and has for quite some time, even in "down" years.
Bama gets the best tv ratings of any team and it's not close.

Networks want big ratings...and Bama = big tv ratings.

The networks will always suck up to Bama, and have this year. It's just that you were sensitive in the past.

Actually it seems that Bama is getting left out of the final four by most pundits which is fine. I'd like to see this team be underrated. If they end up with only one loss this season they'll likely make the playoff assuming it's not in the sec title game.

Its because they, and every other media outlet are sucking tOSU's dick.

of course you haven't because you are an Alabama fan.

This could be a mind frick thing that Saban came up with to ask ESPN to not hype Alabama up this season.

I know Saban is good friends with all of the ESPN gods and them not being on top, it could be great Locker Room Material for the Crimson Tide.

Everybody knows that Alabama only beats themselves. It's just bizarre that ESPN is not Alabama 24/7.

Because people grow tired and bored of hearing about Alabama constantly, and it eventually hurts ratings. Spread the love some, and win people back, blah blah blah.

He has asserted some sort of absolute about television ratings associated with alabama football and indicated without empirical evidence that they've attained the highest audience viewership. That is exactly what is WRONG with his statement.

Not sure why that matters, but I'll go with it?

I doubt it. If ESPN isn't hyping Bama it's because of the loads of inexperience on offense and the "we'll believe it when we see it" approach that most should have on the secondary.

I guess.

I wouldn't say Alabama only beats themselves. I'd say complacency is a legitimate issue, but 3 of the last 4 losses haven't been because of complacency.

- Auburn made an all time play
- The Ole Miss game was hyped as the biggest in Ole Miss history
- Ohio State had almost as much talent as Bama and a top 10 coach all time.

So complacency is hopefully gone. One encouraging factor is the 3rd year and younger players on this team haven't won a National Title. The 3rd year guys who are likely to go pro after this year should be more hungry than a Bama team has been since 2011.

Anyway, my original post in this thread was just saying that I wasn't sure if it was true that ESPN wasn't talking Bama. I've seen them talking about Bama, but I haven't been watching ESPN as much as usual the past few weeks so like I said in my first post in this thread, I could have just been wrong because of my smaller sample size.
