When did 4th and 25 hurt the most?
Was it right after it happened when the play resulted in a Arky win?
Or was it after you beat LSU and realized you would probably have been going to the SEC championship game if not for 4th and 25?
Or had you already accepted WAOM after losing to Memphis and turned to drinking like every other year?

It hurt after we beat state more. At the time it was looking like we we still had a chance going into the 3rd OT until bert made a ballsy call to go for 2

That night after the game and then I was done with it. Honestly, it is what it is move on. When we played Lsu next at the end of the half Harris fumbled on the last play 5 rebels were jumping to get the dead ball and marquis Haynes covered it. I look at it like this the defense needed to make a few stops and they didn't IE.we never should have been in a 4th and 25 situation at all!
After all it was a fluke play unlike our bobble snap throw into the helmets for a touchdown designed play!

I was too stunned on 4th and 25.
The face mask on the 2 point conversion hurt far worse for me.

These responses make sense.. as outside observers I feel like most of us didn't think that much of 4th and 25 until you beat LSU and MSU... cause pretty much all of us though you would lose one of those.
But if you were a Ole Miss fan you probably though you were gonna win those.

Given the fact our defense didn't show up half the year, I am fine with the way things turned out.
4-25 didn't hurt at all. Once I saw the facemask on the 2 point play, I knew it wasn't in the cards that day. Nothing to be hurt about

Right when it happened is when it fricking hurt the most.
Was over it by the time LSU's arse whoopin' commenced.
All's well that ends well.

It hurt early in the 4th quarter when it was tied and we had the ball at our own 35 with 3rd and 1 and tried to run it up the middle and didn't get the first down. Had to punt. I knew it was over then.
But if we are going to shoot out load and win the west we might as well do it in a year that we can make the playoffs. Memphis killed that. Program is going in the right direction. We know we will have another chance in November soon.

Well, we are best fan base on tRant
After the pain inflicted by Memphis, Arkansas was just a dull throb.
It will be a lingering sting until our bowl game, win that one and it will all go away.
If our recruiting goes as planned, we might be more annoying than Tennessee and Arkansas in the off-season.

Jesus... Memphis is good football team.

Here's something for you, OP: the Arkansas game was the 10th of 10 in a row before a break. Since we did play good defense against LSU and State after the break, I have to conclude that maybe we had tired legs when we played Arkansas because we couldn't seem to stop anything the Hogs did. No other SEC team had to play 10 in a row like that. This fall we get our first break after five games--much better. Not trying to make an excuse for the Arky game because our offense and Chad Kelly were superb. But we do get a nice NY6 bowl for the second year. Our ninth Sugar Bowl all-time. Only 'Bama and LSU have been more. I agree with other posters on the thread who say that the program is headed in the right direction (and relevant.) Our recruiting is top-notch, and we will have other opportunities to go to Atlanta and the playoff.

When I saw bama laying the hammer down on LSU, I knew the Rebs had fricked up

TCU would have fricked up anyone last year. They were pissed they weren't in the playoffs.
Then add in that Treadwell was hurt and we weren't the same at the end of the year without him. Bo had a gimp arm and couldn't throw the ball deep. Sanders our #2 WR was hurt. Tunsil got hurt early in the game. We had no chance. Hindsight is 20/20 but they had all the advantages going into that game.
This year we are healthy with Kelly, Treadwell, Tunsil, RN and the rest of guys (minus Tony Connor). We will be in a much better position to take care of business.

The 4th and 25 is what it is. It was one play in a 100 that we couldn't stop Arkansas. The two attempts at the 2 point conversions. The playaction rollouts every other play that we couldn't stop.
We lose to Memphis, lost convincingly to Florida, and ultimately lost to Arkansas.
It hurt when it happened but it is part of the game. Alabama had a more complete team and deserved their run.
I'm happy to be in the Sugar Bowl. I wish we were going after a SEC title, but it's the nature of the game.
