after that dude slammed the ball to the ground, he was T'd up. then, aTm got to shoot their two shots first. THEN......Kentucky got to shoot their two shots for the foul committed against them.
now..........I always thought that that team, that benefitted from the technical foul, received the ball automatically after they shoot the free throws. why didn't aTm get the ball back after their shots?

That's for a flagrant foul.
A technical foul stops play for 2 free throws and then play resumes as is.

ok. I know in high school you get the ball back on a tech. didn't know it was different in college. thanks.

That was a strange sequence. If he had slammed the ball straight down and caught it, it would have probably not have been a T. Since he threw it, they called the T.

He looked right at Caruso when he threw the ball in his direction.
Still a big mistake on his part and he realized it as soon as the ball left his hands.

since we're talking about technicals- i have a question too. say a dude gets a tech as he's walking off the court after receiving his 5th foul. does anything happen besides the free throws and ball the opposite team gets? in other words, normally a personal foul is given when the t is given but since the player has already fouled out then the personal foul is just ignored then?

interesting, maybe it would count as a team foul but no one gets a personal?
