As a Clemson fan, that kid did what he had to do. He scored the last time he had the ball and and put it on Bama's Defense to hold Clemson and it didn't happen.

His stats weren't pretty, but the kid made some big plays,

Great Game

Being a somewhat large part of the reason that Clemson was able to run 99 plays on offense doesn't help.

I don't think anyone is hating on him. People are just pointing out that he's not a good passer

He ran in to good coaches that could devise a good game plan against him and he got rattled but looked composed. He's 18, it's gonna happen.

What's more interesting is how he does or does not bounce back next year.

Cause he played like Treon Harris. I don't like Bama at all, but when I saw him overthrowing and being ineffective, I had a flashback to when Treon was doing the same shite at Florida. Scary. Almost felt bad for the Tide.

Folks..This 18 Year Kid had to play in the National Title game against a pretty good defense..Oh Yeah..He had to break in a new OC that was whispering sweet nothings to him..The kid just ran the plays Sark was calling in...

His receivers didn't do him any favors, either.

As stated above, I think people are pointing out that he's a bad passer. Yeah he's a TF and he ran the plays he was supposed to, but he didn't run them well because he can't throw.

Well, ardarius didnt do him any favors by not getting on the ground after he caught that ball over the middle. Dieter dropped an easy first down play as well. Not sure what happened on the screen to harris that oj intercepted.
What the frick happened to griffith. Nowhere near the endzone all night with kickoffs. Saban/sark as well...plenty of blame for everyone, not just jalen

Because Bama fans spent most of the season acting like Hurts is a future 1st round pick and pro bowler and attacking anybody who said otherwise. People got tired of it and grew contempt for Hurts, same as how Trump likely got elected because people got tired of being called names by liberals and grew contempt for the left.

I literally said I think Hurts is a very good college QB and may develop into a solid backup in the NFL, but didn't see him being an NFL starter and immediately got attacked by dozens of Bama fans on here "You're stupid! He's just a freshman, he'll be tGOAT! He's just a freshman, leave him alooone!!!"

Of course not. He was the second best player on the field for Clemson after Deshaun Watson.

No hate here. The kid had a terrific season. He was a big reason we got to the championship game. Glad he is our QB.

I do see some room for improvement, however. The offense needs to be able to throw to the middle of the field and connect on a long ball from time to time to be successful. Since Jalen is a freshman and has the athletic talent to do pretty anything he wants to do, I have no doubt with a little off-season work he will return with added skills.

Does this clarify? The guy is a great athlete, but an average qb at best.

Exactly! The special teams and missed tackles lost the game at the end. Not Jalen.

The fact that this kid was sec off poy and was in heisman conversation is all proof anyone needs of the Alabama bias that exists.

Saban told Jalen Hurts to let the defense win the game. it's not Jalen Hurts fault the defense didn't win the game.

I think that it has a lot to do with being put on a pedestal by the media and Bama fanbase. He didn't ask for it BTW. By late in the season it became obvious that he was an exceptional runner and very composed guy but was not a very good passer. But when you listened to the media and the promotions every week you got the "All World" target info. From that you get the anti-crowd...
