Didn't watch it, either. Too traumatized by the Jax State game.

Better than JJ. Still not enough to win.

Better than JJ. Made some mistakes that I'll chalk up to him being a freshman. But he looks promising. Offense overall still needs work. Made it into the red zone six times, but only walked away with 6 points

1 big mistake. Looked pretty good. A couple of nice throws and nice runs, but the pass plays were pretty conservative until late.

Moved the offense pretty consistently.

Terrible play calling for much of the game.

That INT on AU's 1st drive on the MSU goal line really changed the complexion of that game. It that was his 2nd start instead of his first, AU probably wins that game. Still should have.

He did well with what the coaches asked him to do, but they didn't ask him to do much. Mainly a bunch of dink and dunk passes to the running backs. I am still not convinced he can throw the ball downfield like he would need to for Auburn to truly turn things around

Did JJ play at all? Has the freshman sealed his position as the starter?

I think he was in for a couple of plays and no, he did not seal the starting position. I don't think Gus has committed to a starter this week.

JJ came in on one play at the goal line to simply try to power it through the last 1/2 yard. Miss State called a TO before the snap, and we ended having a botched snap the next play and missing the field goal that followed.

No.

I don't see any way he doesn't start next week. He did everything asked of him. The loss was on Malzahn this week.

Agree with this. The offense was rolling and doing well. Throwing that pick basically on the goal line had to kill this kids confidence. He looked decent overall and made a lot less mistakes than JJ. Most likely because he was playing a game manager role as opposed to JJ who was going out there and trying to make big plays.

Kerryon Johnson looks a ton better than Roc Thomas. He might be the best weapon AU has on offense right now.

Playing way too many Freshmen and sophomores (65% of the two deep)
This team has ZERO senior leadership...

Offense:
RB= 1 freshman (Karryon is someone that needs to play more)
TE= 1 freshman (We really don't have a TE)
H-back= 2 freshman (Crazy Malzahn has to rely on Freshmen here)
QB= freshman (Redshirt) Did what the coaches asked.

Defense:
D-Line: Cowart has played OK, moved him more inside. Carlton Davis (#18) improving.. Irving (nickel) played well.

ETA: Chiz' last class (2012 sucked), current seniors
Malzahns First Class (2013 sucked), but it game after Auburn's 3-9 season, still sucked. JJ and Lawson were the jewels of the class (neither playing), Monty is a steady contributor.

Not sure why he didn't touch the ball AT ALL the second half. Auburn team showed a lot more fight and fire than they did the first three games, but shitty offensive playcalling cost them the game.

I think he has more potential to run the team than JJ.

He looked good on their 1st drive. Scripted plays were run much better than in the past few games. Had he not become over confident and thrown the interception on the goal line it may have been a different game.

But it wasn't to be.

I dont think it killed his as much as the coach's. They didnt want another possible 2-3 turnover game again and limited it up from there
