Has nothing to do with competition or LSU or Auburn. Dude deserves it. He got a royal screwing at USC and should have gotten a chance there

I dont want LSU to be good or anything but I like him and want to see him get another chance...

If he wins out I think he has it, he can probably still get it even with a loss to Bama.

I see him as a better version of dabo, he will recruit, he will run the team well and hire great coaches and let them do work. IMO he has more football knowledge than people will admit due to how he talks.

I don't have an issue giving him the job. He will lock down our borders even tighter.

Keeping him is a huge mistake but the one positive is even if he flops the cupboard will be full for the next coach

Problem is if he is really good then we have missed our chance if we let him go.

If Herman or jimbo is on the line then so be it we let O go. If they aren't then I think O gets it. He is pushing all the right buttons so far.

I also assume he keeps Aranda. He then brings in a new oc and we roll.

O can win here with our budget by letting our coaches do their job.

It could be a mistake or it's a gamble that pays off.

Outside of Herman, Chip or Jimbo there isn't a sure fire success.

I know you love fleck and he looks great but can he win down south, how does he build a staff in a place where he knows no one.

Fedora is a big question about his D and chiz is way worse than Aranda.

Dude is a LSU coach if I have ever seen one. Players and Fans seem to love him. He is not making this about him even though he was royally fricked in this same position at USC.

Some coaches would use this as a chance to sell themselves if they didnt get the job. He is not. He refuses to make this about him.

Player opinion of the coach is huge. Don't take that for granted.

Why? He's 1-0 vs Ole Miss in a rape and pillage

Y'all are back to bottom shelf in the SEC. You'll never surpass LSU

O managed to win over former les players that were in denial about miles condition. He has the media in his corner and he is winning.

Also O is smart, he had a plan in place for if he got the nod. You don't do the changes he has made if you didn't have a clue how to run a team.

I'm firmly in the if Herman, Chip or Jimbo won't come then let's roll with O. Any tier 2 hire is going to be a gamble only a handful of coaches or sure things and only 3 of those are even possibilities.

I think most of our fans want a sexy hire, and they are holding Os past against him without looking to see if there has been improvement. To me he has admitted his mistakes which is important in getting better, he found the issue and is showing us how he will correct it.

Also this is college ball so while X and O matters it's also a game of motivation and just raw talent. O brings that and his oc and DC can bring the X and Os.

I think the real key will be how does he hire and fire when the time comes.

Exactly

And they'll be looking for a new HC soon too

Ole miss is a perennial 2nd tier football program and will always be second fiddle to LSU

If you fellow SEC brothers are pulling for coach O, that tells me all I need to know! Lol. A great coach at LSU would not be in your best interest. God bless you all for your care and concern for the LSU program. I'm sure we will take your "well wishes" into consideration during our coaching search.

It's not a far stretch to think Coach O has learned a lot since his HC role at Ole Miss.

He could have developed into a really good CEO type HC, and could keep LSU playing at a high level with the right staff always in place.

He did a great job at USC, and is doing a fine job at LSU. I could see how it would be hard for a lot of fans not wanting him to stay in that role though.
