Good. We dont like Poverty traveling within our pristine borders.

Then stay home. It's that simple.

You are 10.5 hrs away from Columbia MO. Most years you could catch a playoff game in STL on your way in or out if the game is in October. Come check out Meramec Caverns and Onandoga State Park. If the game is in November, bring your rifle, get an out of state license and any deer permit over the counter and take a trophy white-tail home with you.
Lots to do in the Show Me state.

Just wait... We have a bunch of knobs on this board who want to add Norman and possibly Stillwater to your vacation destinations. OK is freakin' depressing.

I had a bad experience in La Grange, Missouri...coming from Cedar Rapids on our way to St. Louis on our way back to Atlanta. We stopped along the way for breakfast and somehow got involved in a fight between a husband and a wife while we were trying to dine (in La Grange).
I don't exactly have very good things to say about your State after that. We had to get the police involved.
Was that just a "regional" thing? It was very inconvenient, but we did what we thought was right and made our way back to Atlanta. We just wanted to get out of there to be honest.

Just so I have this straight. Someone who went to auburn is going on about how college station is a small town in the middle of nowhere?

Literally. It was like 100,000 degrees
No! That's not literal. That's figurative writing. "Literally" means the exact opposite of how you used it.

But we all of a sudden need to book a flight to "exotic" College Station?
Sorry. Many times, graduates of universities that are known to produce talented and well educated indivuals, are recruited to take high paying positions in corporations in other states and around the world. We then usually schedule a few trips to home AND away games each year. We purchase these relatively inexpensive things called airplane tickets, rent a vehicle and stay in what is known as a hotel (much like a motel that you are probably familiar with except with much better amenities and no exterior room entrances).
For example, I will be flying from my home to Atlanta and then driving to Auburn. Best of luck.

I only read page 1, but have you never heard of an airplane? Houston has 2 giant arse airports is in not far from CS. Plus CS has an airport too.

Aubies have never seen a plane. Let alone flown in one

College Station is neither small, nor is it in the middle of nowhere.
Folks who make comments like that spend their free time on horn websites.
Or just enjoy making dumb comments.
I can't identify with the home-body mentality.
I hope to see as many away venues/college towns as I can before God calls me home.
It seems as though some in the SEC want to load into the sedan, shoe polish the car windows, and drive the same 150-mile trips each season.
Very much reminds me of high school football.

The BCS metro is over 250k and I am not sure how many students are included in that number. The main campus alone has around 60k. It is 90 mi from Houston. Houston metro has over 6 M people which is more than the entire state of Alabama.

Would someone from Alabama please chime in and tell us that people are not that ignorant in your state?

Many times we do.
We don't brag, though, do we?
We are taught better.
Learn how to handle your money.
Anyone can be rich...but true wealth is earned in time.
Texas has a long way to go.

Live 2.300 miles from your college hometown and see how it feels.

I never said Texas A&M was a bad school.
I merely said it was too far away.
Not everyone has a fricking airplane at their beck and call.
