he's remarkably candid.
kinda refreshing compared to the typical coach speak bravado
LINK
at the 3 minute mark on his "coaches corner" interview with espn's peter burns.
on the arkansas game
"we had no chance...i knew it and we weren't prepared......but we rallied (the next week) and had a good egg bowl"
takes a big man to admit that.
but like bert say's you can't get tough in one week!

It's cool that he admits that, unlike their fans. They want to blame a 30-0 loss on one receiver getting injured.
And let's not forget the turnover excuse they love to use. "If only we didn't have 6 turnovers, we would have won."

seriously i can't ever remember a coach saying something like that.
not about a conference game. maybe an fcs school playing a power 5 school but against a conference rival no less.
that they knew going into the game they'd lose amazing

I wonder why he thought that, or if what he said was accurate? Its not like you didn't know what the Hawgs were going to do.

If size=quality of the person, Bert would be the fricking pope.

No excuses from this LSU fan. I think most of us realize we got a good tail kicking last year from Arkansas. I felt that one coming on, not much could be done about it. Bring it on to Tiger Stadium this year and we will return the favor. Hats off to Arkansas, they earned it.

I think we lean more on not having our starting QB for a portion of the game but its in response to yall are the champion of "OM is overrated" based on yalls game last year. The bitching and excuses are not excuses covering up we got our asses handed to us. They are not excuses saying that arky was not a good program or good enough to beat a healthy OM team. We all agree to that assumption. Its the championing of OM being overrated that gets these responses. You ignore what we did when we were completely healthy. Freeze has built depth and this will be the first year he has a full class that are upperclassmen, he did not have that previously. There was a huge drop off between our starters and backups and we had our most important players injured in every game we lost. Everyone gets injuries and the team that survives the league year in and year out does it with depth, but if yall lost Kirkland, Williams, and Collins yall would have not been as strong, all we are saying when we bitch like this is acknowledge that you destroyed a shell of the team that was ranked #3 in the nation.

Kind of like Arkansas fans who say their offense dominated our defense when every scoring drive y'all had on offense was 40 yards or less.
