Intentional? He made so many overthrown passes, a few in double coverage. If SEC officiating maybe beneficial PI's? If so i think it was foolish for the coaching staff for bama to not change up their game when they realized they were not going to be getting any favorable calls.

He's like the Jordan Jefferson of Alabama but with a better on the field attitude. Dude isn't very good at passing. Hard to envision him beating teams with his arm anytime soon

He just turned 18 and has a rocket arm. Just inaccurate as shite. He'll work on it. Bama has basically the whole Offense coming back.

We do lose a lot on Defense though. We should be back in the playoffs or close next season so it's all good.

they were all thrown over the receivers heads in the field of play. That's why i'm wondering if it was a practiced play to hope to get a PI.

There were many that would still fall under the uncatchable rule

not with defensive holding as a possibility

That would be the judgement call on the ref to make, I think most would fall under the uncatchable rule. Either way he didn't put the ball close enough to the WRs to put the refs in a position like that.

I just think hurts was nervous on the big stage and didn't want to make a big mistake. On some of his roll outs he could have deliver a strike in a window if capably but instead just threw the ball away. It almost worked out for a win but just a bit short this year.

Saban has adopted Les Miles offense. The kid is so afraid of mistakes that it's rendered his game unaffective

He overthrows because he is just having difficulty passing. Dieter, Stewart and OJ dropping passes didn't help him either. Our offense has been crap against good defenses. It finally caught up last night.

I will say this for Hurts, he is one of the coolest looking people in a tight game. Completely emotionless on the sidelines.

He didn't want to throw a pick so he overthrew when coverage was tight

Wish we still had Barnett. Dual threat is only good if qb can pass worth a shite. I think we in a bad qb situation now.

The SEC threw less penalty flags than any other league, so I don't think that had anything to do with it.

He just wasn't really accurate all year, and last night was even worse than usual.

And at least most of them were forward passes...

Trent Dilfer did an interview on Rusillo and Kannell today and said Alabama had to retool Hurts throwing mechanics after the Elite 11. Hurts threw with a straight left leg and was a severe knee injury waiting to happen. Dilfer told Kiffin this and they started over from scratch with his mechanics once Hurts got to campus. Dilfer stated this is the reason for his lack of accuracy, he said it will get better but he doesn't believe Hurts will ever be elite at throwing the football with accuracy. Dilfer also said that Tua is one of the 3 best talents he's seen come through the elite 11.

Just passing along what I heard on the radio, take it for what it's worth.

I could see this theory with a freshman QB and the defense we had. I expect Sark to open it up next year.. more down the field. The bright side is at the beginning of the year he was under throwing targets and his arm strength started to be questioned. We now know that wasn't the issue.. the kid can sling it. Just needs more practice at timing in game situations. Hard to simulate in practice.
