quote:
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."
Well said, komrade!

Ayn Rand was a shitty philosopher.
And even more importantly than that she was a terrible writer.

Should have just quoted Saban.
"We don't talk about winning championships, we talk about being a champion."
"We don't talk about winning championships, we talk about being a champion."

Why is he quoting an atheist? Needs to get right with God.
Surely you can't be serious with this.

Most college football coaches are hard-core Christian Republicans.
As are most SEC fans for that matter.
If Freeze is quoting Ann Rand, I like him. Holtz and Spurrier have both done it in the past and both are hard core Christian Conservatives and very active in the FCA.

If you honestly can read a book like Atlas Shrugged and not see the parallels to the modern world and how private industry reacts to business I feel sorry for you. Fortunately the folks in Texas get it, that's why NY and California businesses and millionaires keep moving here. At some point people get tired of working their arse off and taking risks just so the government can tax it all away, thus Atlas Shrugged.
Well stated.

Even if they are atheist, or gay, or whatever, we're NOTHING as a nation without LIBERTY, whether it be personal or economic. Everybody with a brain agrees on that. Fight for everyone's soul or the right for Steve to marry Fred when the commies are held at bay. Not before.
