How would you rank the SEC schools considering academics as well as athletics?

The first two or three are fairly easy if you weight athletics and academics equally.

It gets more difficult when you start with #4.

I'm still thinking about my list but how would you rank them?

It's tougher than I thought it would be. I keep switching #3 and #4.

I may start with the MS schools and work my way up from there.

Those are #1, #2 and #3 in your list?

Placing Vandy is really tough.

Best academics obviously but their athletics moves them down to the 7-8 range "ish".

one of these schools are not like the others.

Also are we doing historic, last five years or this year as far as athletics go? looking at athletics as a whole or the big 3?

All good questions and I guess I would consider the entire history and all sports just to avoid arguments.

That is just silly. By far the best academics. Best baseball. Top 4 basketball. Really good at things like Tennis, Golf, etc. Basically they aren't good at football. You can also say that some schools are good at wrestling, swimming, gymnastics and other sports that the smaller schools and their states have no interest in. Vandy rules the SEC.

Athletic achievements are obvious but academics are subjective. Some schools are stronger in research than others, for example.

I don't see how a fair ranking can be done by mixing athletics and academics.

I'm thinking even the Vandy wouldn't place them at number one on this list.

The very top and the very bottom are pretty easy. The middle is really tough. I keep bouncing them around like a pickle jar full of ping pong balls.

Eh. If we mix the metric UF is the clear winner.

It would go something like:

UF
Vandy
UGA
and so on.
