The trolling aside, these idiotic threads do bring up an actual interesting point. When is the last time every SEC school had a coach leave on their own terms? It's seems it is pretty rare to have a coach beyond five years, much less ten or more years.

Only Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina, LSU, and Alabama currently have a head coach for 8 years or longer. Many other SEC schools have multiple head coaches in the same time frame.

for fear of starting an actual discussion, youre right. The fans are too impatient to let a coach build anything nowadays. Thats all over college football, not just in the SEC

That comes as no surprise. Those are the five winningest programs in the conference over the last 6 years.

72-9 (45-7) - Alabama
61-18 (35-15) - LSU
56-23 (32-18) - S Carolina
54-25 (31-20) - Mizzou
54-26 (32-18) - Georgia

That's not just college football, or even college in general. A lot of teams should have more patience like the Steelers.

Our last was Ken Hatfield in '89, who just got fed up with Frank Broyles, who would be next when he retired to become our AD.

Lsu has the longest active streak, I believe. Probably will extend it to two.

He'll get an offer to coach at a school like Nebraska or Stanford or Penn State, a big name program with more re$ourceS backing it, and off he'll go. Like 3 or 4 years from now.

Mmm, I don't know if I would call Hatfield leaving on his own terms. I think if Broyles hadn't been such a colossal pain to deal with that Hatfield would have stayed on as Razorbacks coach for quite a while longer.

Or to put it this way, Hatfield leaving for Clemson was Hatfield's choice, but I don't think it was the choice he wanted.

ETA: For a bit of creative spelling... it would seem this here bourbon that is keeping me company is quite potent.
