Ball control and own the trenches. Long methodical drives. Got to get them into 3rd and longs.

Alabama's improved secondary and pass rush should allow them to play straight up without any major adjustments. If this holds up and Alabama is able to get pressure sending four and maintain pass rush lanes OU's passing attack should be limited in effectiveness. A lot of OSU's success running the ball last season came after they had success through the air. If the D line continues their domination and keeps OU behind schedule on downs I like our chances.

Against TN, OU ran the ball 48 times for 161 yards for 3.4 yards per carry. Not that it means much it was Mayfields 2nd start on the road and I'm sure their OL hadn't gelled as much either.

What hook? My bro is an OU Alum, so I'm going to ride in this one (again). OU just wrecked a good Oklahoma State squad. Bama barely made it out of the shittiest SEC West in years.

They're nothing special and will get their asses whipped by the Sooners--again.

They have yet to play a defense quite like Alabama's. Something will give.

I agree with this. But Alabama hasn't faced an offense like OU either.

***WAIT***

Before you Rebals start with the "Ole Miss offense is better" horseshite, just shut up and let the big people talk.

Mayfield is a goddamn nightmare to defend, Perrine is a monster, and they operate out of the spread with tempo, which is the only offense that seems to give Bama problems.

Do you think that Baker Mayfield is better than Chad Kelly or do you think it is just the conference he played in? I honestly, think it is closer than some would think. I do think we played that OM offense pretty well considering we gave up 5 TOs which led to a short side of the field.

Does the Big 12 defenses equate to 8 more TDs?

Chad Kelly Stats:
3740 yards 27 TDs 12 INTs.... 427 yards rushing on 97 attempts. 4.4 YPC

Baker Mayfield Stats:
3389 yards, 35 TDs, 5 INTs....420 yards rushing on 131 attempts. 3.2 YPC

Chad Kelly also has ten rushing TDs to Mayfield's seven.

True.

Auburn gave Alabama some fits yesterday going up tempo.

I've been waiting for TD posters to figure out why that's a compliment to a Navy man for years.

Auburn kept it close for sure. It's the Iron Bowl.

Bama held AU to 260 yards. If you take away the 1 play 77 yard TD catch. AU has 183 yards. AU was also held to the fewest yards rushing under Malzahn which was 91 yards. During the second half, Bama held the ball for 21 minutes compared to Auburn's 8 minutes. Someone said that after Halftime Auburn only had 1 yard rushing. I don't know if that is true.

Regardless, Bama substitutes quicker than in the past which has helped against spread teams. It is still an issue but not as bad.

It's hard to say, Chad has the tendency to make poor decisions, hence the 12 ints. I guess if you factor in the strength of competition, they're pretty equal.

Mayfield has superior RBs to work with, though.

Agreed. Mayfield has much better RBs. Kelly has better WRs depth. (Treadwell, Engram, Core, and Stringfellow) compared to Sterling Shepard (who is badass in his own)

Just seems like an argument can be made that they are almost a push.

I would take OU's defense over Ole Miss too.

This is correct.

I hope you give Florida and your playoff opponents hell and bring the crown back to the SEC.

OU is a rushing team. Bama stops the run. If Bama doesn't turn the ball over they are 2 Tds better than OU.

Was just watching some of the IB on YouTube. Looked like Auburn had lots of open guys in the passing game but Johnson and the receivers were derping it up. That ain't gonna fly against OU.

I was impressed with Bama and how theyve seemingly dominated as of late but watching the sluggish performance minus Henry vs Auburn is a little scary. I think OU is the hottest team right now in the country and the biggest threat as far as a complete team on both sides of the ball.

They found a way with that defensive pass rush to put Bama on their heels and win 2 years ago with a team that is not near as talented as they are now. I would also argue that Bamas team in 2013 is better than this years team as well.

It can go one of two ways, either Alabama comes out swinging and shuts the running game down enough that Mayfield is forced to sit back and throw 35-40 times and get sacked a ton

OR

Alabama gets hit in the mouth by the tempo and leaves open holes in the running game trying to stop the pass.
