How well does Tennessee football do this year?

They just extended Fulmer's contract, which shocked me. Can they challenge Florida and Georgia for the East this year? No one expected them to be there last year, but they were. But they're not the same Tennessee from the mid to late 90s.

They are my suprise team. I actually think they win the East.

Well, thanks guys. I guess it's only appropriate that my first post on this board be UT related. Great place you have here.

I wasn't even remotely surprised by Fulmer's extension (and "longevity" bonus!). He and AD Mike Hamilton are BFF 4-EVA.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the season. The player response towards Dave Clawson's offense has been encouraging so far, but hey, Hitler had a fan club back in the day as well. Popularity only means so much. Have some concerns about defense and special teams. UCLA is going to be a true litmus test. Counting down the days.

I never hear much about them, so they allways seem to fly under the radar for us in the West.

I think that they will have a tough season. Every team in the SEC East, with the exception of Vandy, has the week off before playing them.

Plus they open up the season on the West Coast again (UCLA)

That has nothing to do with the SEC standings. If anything it will battle test them come SEC play.

I didn't know that... that might hurt them a lot.

Right now, the East is more difficult than the West. West has AU and LSU, East has UF, UT and Jawja. Fulmer just doesn't have the fire anymore. His years are numbered. If not this year, then next.

They may surprise a team or two, but their schedule is tough.

Depends on the team, lose early on like Auburn did in 2003, and a team can go down hill. On the other hand Arkansas & Tenn rebounded from opening games Pac-10 losses to win the division.

Tennessee is going to smash Ucla, but I think they struggle this year. As the previous poster said that every team in their division except Vandy has a bye before they play them. Also losing Ainge is going to hurt alot. He ran their no huddle very well, I doubt Crompton will be even close as effective. They need a huge year out of Foster, and I think he will have a big year.

Mine too. When no one expects anything from Fulmer and Tennessee, they come in and surprise people like their 1998 team.

What is it with you and some of you other Aubbies? I find I'm enjoying y'all being on here. Maybe it is the deep, every fiber of my being, hate that I share with you for UAT.

I'm PAC 10 all the way, but it's really hard to root for ucla in anything, and this season the bRuins are in disarray. They're starting a JC transfer QB who would be their 3rd stringer if the first two choices weren't injured. New HC in New-weasel and a new OC in Chow (that'll help them if and when they get talent).

Oh, and their defense sucks arse.

Actually the ruin D will pretty good, but worn out by midseason. That will be such a piss poor O-line over there. I say Ucla goes 3-9.

PAC-10 title???

Ucla entered the offseason very thin on the offensive line. During this offseason they lost 2 starters. It will be patchwork by mid-season with their QB's being killed. Their starter Cowan is out for the season, Olsen won't be ready for the opener. Looks like JUCO transfer and former San Diego St. QB Kevin Craft will be the starter, but who knows how long he will last. Ucla is in for a very rough year with what most people have as the #1 SOS (they have Tennessee, Fresno St., and BYU in their ooc).

Oregon, then ASU will be our biggest challenges in PAC-10 play. IMO Oregon is going to be very good.
