Here's how Rivals had the top 20 QB's rated for the Class of 2013. Several QB's committed to SEC teams on this list and a couple of guys like Goff who have already went Pro. What if anything catches your attention? I see several SEC commits who came in highly regarded and haven't done a thing up to this point

Thanks. Missed him. Amazing how one class could be so great and one so mediocre.

Goff, Hackenburg, and Dobbs are the only ones that immediately jump out as having some success.

UGA, USC, AU, Bama* and Ole Miss all missed for the most part with their QBs.

What's the story with the guy who was committed to LSU?

#9 on that list transferred to LSU and sat out last year. He started for Purdue but they hired a guy who wanted to run a system that didn't fit his skill set. He's starting the year as Harris' backup. They were on local radio late last week saying that he will push Brandon and can win if he plays.

Decent highlights from his time as a Boilermaker.

Rettig was a bust. Didn't have the arm talent to beat out Jennings. Jennings had a el dente noodle for a right arm if that tells you anything. Word is he transferred to Rutgers to follow the tail he is/was dating. I think he played a bit but due to injury if memory serves. No impact of consequence whatsoever.

Is it really the school's miss when literally everybody missed, from the recruiting services who ranked him high to the dozens of other schools who offered?

You can be as thorough as possible evaluating a player and sometimes a player is just going to be a bust anyway and there isn't anything anybody but the recruit himself could've done about it.

Austin Allen was a composite top 20 QB and will be starting for Arkansas this year.
