Do you all realize how valuable LSU football is to the SEC? Do you realize how much money CBS makes from Bama/LSU every year? If it came down to it CBS, ESPN and the SEC would prop the whole damn University up to keep the football going.

Folks here only take politicians comments "seriously" when it provides good trolling material. Fact of the matter is Louisiana as a state is struggling, and while it won't affect football, it's still kind of fricked up to joke about considering the amount of people that will be in a bad way when the dust settles.

It is great that people that have been on this site forever still don't understand that it doesn't matter how big or small a piece of information, the rest of the fans will pile on for trolling effect. Those trying to tell the rest of the fans how stupid they are for believing it should look in the mirror.

if you're going to try and scare the Louisiana residence of our debt problems at least come up with a believable consequence. I mean come on man. Our new governor is an idiot. Now one thing he did cut yesterday (tops program) will def hurt us on the baseball diamond.

It's based on the lack of eligibility of the players. If LSU main campus runs out of money, no one will be able to attend classes. Ergo, the players would not be academically eligible. The governor is not using football as saying he'll take it away, he's showing the detrimental effects that failing to fund the university could have across the board.
