I look at it this way in regards to Elvis:

Dr Nick tried to save the king. He used to take a syringe to Elvis's placydils (high powered sedatives where the pills were filled with liquid) and remove his drugs.
While performing in Vegas, Elvis would take two cotton balls and soak them in his bottle of prescription liquid cocaine and insert one in each nostril to prepare for his show. It was good for his vocal chords.

I actually detoured past his house the last time I was there for M in M to see where the rat bastard lives.
That said, Elvis did it to himself. He DGAF after his mama died.
