Agreed. No one could bring the Nebraska program back from the dead.

Dunno. Gus is a better coach than saban. Saban had the state of Louisiana on lock down and no instate rivals there so he built a talent advantage. AU has to contend with more committed boosters paying more and a high school system with a lot of people suckling at the money teet with bama boosters, so I'm not sure he could recruit at the same level as he has at bama.

So, saban might be a downgrade from Gus at AU. Probably would be actually. Gus was 1 play away from a national title and has been at AU for 2 years so far.

Really hard to say. Saban has never won much without superior talent so dunno.

I'm sorry which coach is 0-2 in bowl games as a head coach?

Which coach is 1-1 despite significant talent advantages at almost every position both years?

This year the talent gap is pretty narrow though. You can expect Saban to lose this year and be 1-2 vs Gus.

And one of those game took a fluke miracle play to win. Last year's game accurately showed how big the talent gap really is.

And we'll see what happens this year.

Never at Vanderbilt to much good grades issues,,6 years at Texas A&M, you would have to get all the figs out of the program and start from scratch and it would take four years to start getting elite elite Texas recruits back from LSU, Tennessee your glory days is over no matter who the coach is. And Ole Miss and Mississippi State you would have to combine both your teams to have a chance for saban to win a national Championship. LSU and Georgia is the only two schools he would win a national championship quickly within two years

The same coach that blew him out the following 2 years by a combined score of 96-14. And each year we beat Chizik we won a national championship, so....

Last year AU kicked bamas arse in every single statistical category while going up and down the field all night with ease.

Settling for field goals early is the only reason bama was even in the game at half time last year.

Oh, and that "fluke" was only made possible because of sabans coaching. Even if saban hadn't lost the game with poor coaching, he would have easily been beaten in overtime.

Hey, I'm not saying saban can't beat a team that goes 0-8 in sec play. He is certainly capable of beating terrible opposition.

However, when he faces a team that can match up, his arse is usually kicked. Just like at MSU, just like in the nfl.

And Auburn still lost by double digits. Hell, if it weren't for a late garbage td you would've lost by 19 points. Gaudy stats really doesn't help you if you still get soundly beat by the other team.

No ones is saying that Saban doesn't make mistakes. The fact that we even went for the field goal instead of going for a hail mary proves that.

BTW, Saban has now lost 3 in a row against teams that finished in the top 10 at year end.

Last time bama beat a team that finished in the top 10 was a terrible notre dame team in 2012 that wasn't really a top 10 team.

I don't think he would win one within two years at lsu or uga. Bama has more talent than either and it's been since 2012 since he won one at bama.

What did the SEC Landscape look like when Saban took over the AL Program ?

AU-Tubs had gotten lazy
LSU- Took advantage of Bama being down.
Ark- Houston Nutt
OLE Miss/MSU- Status Quo
UF- Spurrier was gone
TN-Fulmer was on the decline
UGA-Richt had reached his peak at that point.

I am not sure Saban could achieve a NC today, with the condition the program was in when he took over. The SEC is much more competitive today.

You're saying a team that went 12-0 and went to a NC game doesn't deserve to be in top 10? By your logic, OSU wasn't a top 10 team either cause they faced a similar schedule. Get out of here with your rustled arse.

I'm just stating facts Lil feller. Sorry they don't jive with your cock sucking.

Fact is saban hasn't beaten a team that finished ranked in the top 10 since 2012. And that was notre dame, lol.
