First off, any other Bama fans that root for this guy because he worked for Saban before: you're idiots.

He might be a bottom 3 coach in the SEC. Florida's offense, the side of the ball he specializes in, is atrocious. He can't recruit. The only upside to Mcelwain is the apparent horseshoe he has stored somewhere up his rectum. I would rather have Butch Jones as my coach than Mcelwain. With Muschamp's defensive guys leaving soon along with a good DC already out the door, how much longer until he gets the axe?

Lets see who he brings in as DC before we put him up on the stake shall we?

Yes we need a QB

This is the biggest WTF. Florida has enough talent to go around and he still can't get a class in the top 10? That's nuts. Muschamp did work in 2013 & 2014 so once those guys are gone ole yeller teeth is fricked.

Eh, its harder to recruit than ever.

People can say shite like "UF is based in Florida they should never lack for talent" or "A&M is based in Texas, they should never lack for talent" even though those statements completely ignore the fact that each of those states have other Power 5 programs in them and coaches from all over the country recruit kids from that region.

Nowhere is recruiting a given.

If he gets the QB position straightened out, he'll be good there for a long time. He's a great game-planner and offensive mind. They've been stuck for two years with QBs that probably don't even qualify as serviceable.

You guys do know this is only his 2nd full recruiting cycle right?

He was hired in Dec, so in the few weeks he had he brought that class up to the 10th ranking from not even in top 25

2015: ranked 23rd
2016: ranked 14th
2017: currently ranked 20

That's coming off of:

2013: ranked 4th
2014: ranked 8th

His first full cycle he focused on biggest needs

QB - Flipped Franks from LSU
Kicker - flipped Eddie from Bama
WR- flipped Cleveland from Herman at Houston
OL- needed depth badly. Got it

So i wouldnt say hes terrible. Its not like Florida is in a state alone like LSU. We compete with big time programs for the same kids

I stopped here because this is really, really dumb. Saban's coaching tree is one of the main reasons he gets the elite position coaches that he does.

Muschamp didn't seem to have a problem with competing with all the big time programs.

Yeah Champ could land the 5 star LB

But How was his offensive recruiting? The whole Offense now is mostly Macs guys with i think one Jr on the OL

Hell last yr we had a friggan Harvard transfer on the OL because thats how thin we were.

Well, according to Rivals, the 5 star guys since he's been there were 2 DEs and 1 OL. He's not exactly loading up on 5 star OL, WRs or RBs either.
