Hate is a word that shouldn't be used on Christmas

But anyway, been watching this SEC Storied before the festivities later today happen. One of the guys says that a certain generation only pretty much consider Ole Miss the main "rival". Is that exclusive to the blue hairs and old geezers, or do a couple of you ranters agree with that notion?

I KNOW for a fact that the opinion of the LSU posters is that Alabama is the main rustler these days. No doubt about it. But besides that brash statement, is that not the case as everyone would think?

Ole miss is considered a huge rival, but I'd say Arky is a little better at rustling than them.

Bama
Arky
Ole Miss

In that order imo

ETA: No doubt A&m could climb way up that list had they beat us, since they still talk shite so much even after us beating them so much. They're like a sleeping giant of rustlers just waiting on their opportunity

I don't mind HFrieze and respect his football coaching/program building abilities. It's Ole Miss fans through the years that I do not care for. I put them second worse in the SEC, only the bammers are worse!

Old people think that's a bigger rivalry in the lsu fan base.

Ole Miss hates lsu 10000x more than the other way around.

I'm an lsu fan that graduated from ole miss fwiw.

If Freeze keeps the program moving in the right direction then it may get back to being Avery heated rivalry. Up until a couple of years ago, the game was just another SEC game for most of my generation. I remember hearing my dad, uncles and grandpa saying go to hell ole miss and all that and never understood the hate.

Ole Miss was a huge rival during the 50s, 60s and 70s. The rivalry cooled during the 80s, but has had a resurgence in the last decade or so with more competitive/significant games along with recruiting battles mainly in Northern Louisiana.

Alabama is a very important obstacle/roadblock every year and coupled with the Saban factor, it is circled on every LSU calendar. However, Alabama and Auburn are rivals and LSU will never matter as much as that home grown hatred.

A&M is a forced rivalry attempt much like the SEC hoped Arkansas could have been before the Aggies were invited into the SEC. LSU fans don't really give a shite about either of them other than they represent another SEC win or loss on the schedule.

So, after the long winded answer...GO TO HELL OLE MISS! And Merry Christmas to all including those shirt, tie and khaki wearing dimwits in Oxford.

Ole miss had just lost the 2000 music city bowl and the ole miss radio play by play announcer signing off after the game said "good luck to all the other sec teams in their bowl games, except for LSU in the 2000 peach bowl."

BPT7 loves Ole Miss. Going to school in Oxford is going to turn him into the ultimate cool guy pretentious frat star, something he could never attain at lsu. Nevermind the fact that a degree from lsu is worth more, nobody pretentiously boasts about going to lsu, "I went to ole miss" means I'm better than you.

I don't hate them. But I am aware of how angry they get when you use the year "1963" in a sentence.

Florida has to be on that list, as many LSU seasons as the Gators have ruined.

Florida/Georgia along with Florida State and Miami are much more in the way of rivalries than LSU/Florida. Spurrier led teams would run up the score when they could, so there was hatred for that crap.

No one wants to be LSU... Yall were the laughing stock of college football this past November when you almost fired your winningest all time coach... Only problem was, no other HCs were willing to move to the murder capital of Louisiana to replace him... No one wants to be LSU... Aren't yall on the verge of offering Gardner Minshew a scholly ?
