How many wins do Miles, Malzahn and Sumlin need to avoid being fired?

After 12 games, the Baylor job will be filled by one on the list.

I think if Gus makes a bowl game without any embarrassing losses to their big rivals, he will be back (barring any big discipline or NCAA problems).

I'm sure Miles would have plenty of offers if he's fired. If anything he'll find a more prestigious job than Baylor.

But I don't think either Sumlin or Malzahn would sniff a Power 5 job again. I'm not even sure if they'd have that many Group of 5 conference offers. Maybe they'd end up like Bo Pelini coaching FCS football.

Miles needs to go 33-0 this year to keep his job.

You're badly mistaken. They'd have to tank hard not to be sought after.

If Muschamp can find a "P5" job after tanking Florida, all three will have the opportunity to try to bring relevancy to some fledgling P5 school again.

Well I guess Muschamp got another SEC job so it's not out of the question. But my understanding is that about 5 people turned down the South Carolina job and it got to be very late in the coach search. It was similar how the other USC was forced to hire Pete Caroll. Except Caroll and Muscamp are on exact opposite ends of the coaching skills spectrum.

I don't think that either Sumlin or Malzahn is that respected as a head coach anymore. And they'd become even less respected if they do bad enough to get fired this year.

Don't think that's true. They lay an egg this year, then maybe so.
Sumlin would have a better shot and might end up in the NFL. Gus would probably end up as an OC someplace.

Yeah I was talking purely about head coaching offers though. Sumlin and especially Malzahn would be pretty hot coordinating prospects.

They might be able to get another power conference head job if they do well as a coordinator or lower profile head coach for a few years. I could be wrong but I have a hard time seeing them being Power 5 head coaches in 2017 if they get fired after this year.

I don't disagree. But then there will always be teams like Auburn who will hire a 5-19 coach.

Miles isn't going anywhere, Malzahn has low expectations, but Sumlin will catch fire if this isn't his year.

The only question about Sumlin is if aggy has the cash to fire him after the contract they gave to keep SC from "stealing" him from them.

With out the answer to that, the question is moot as Sumlin is nothing more than a lame duck.
