Sorry the legit titles have triggered you. I'm sure the constant underachieving is not easy

I believe A&M has two such seasons, 1917 (8-0), 1919 (10-0).

That is UGA's Achilles heel. With the absolute most natural advantages of any school in the country, they just can't seem to get over the hump and be consistent at a championship level. It's really quite amazing

I doubt any UGA fans will disagree with you. It's kind of common knowledge.

Debatable. The common mantra is "they don't have any in-state competition other than tech", but that's soooo misleading.

Clemson, FSU, UF, Auburn, UT, and SC are all within an hour or 2 from the GA border. It's not like there's a literal barrier that prevents other teams from recruiting the state. Sure, GA is the 4th best state at producing HS talent (by quantity), but you can only sign ~25 guys a year so obviously you aren't going to get them all.

I DO agree that we should be doing more. We do have everything going for us that you could possibly want in a job.

Why is it that AU fans start this thread once a week during the off season.

Technically, you have to be undefeated and untied to have a perfect season.

all those seasons and only 1 legit title to show for it.

Didn't you say before that you personally claimed 1946 for UGA?
I could have you confused with someone else.

How about providing a link to the last one.

If beating yourself doesn't technically count as a loss then at least 100 undefeated seasons - Johnny Gumptard

And they actually went scoreless the entire season, unlike 1939 Tennessee, who choked in the last game.

Not that many...

1914 - 9-0-1
1916 - 8-0-1
1927 - 8-0-1
1928 - 8-0-1
1929 - 9-0-1
1931 - 9-0-1
1932 - 9-0-1
1938 - 11-0-0
1998 - 13-0-0

Tennessee has had 9 undefeated seasons, with 2 perfect seasons. 5 of the undefeated seasons took place over a 6 year span. For the record, UT was 9-1-0 in 1930. That means that from 1927-1932, UT was 43-1-5.

You are technically correct, as Kansas had to forfeit their win over Missouri. I didn't catch that at first.

Auburn in 1914. We went 8-0-1 with a 0-0 tie to Georgia.

In 1913 Auburn went 8-0 and didn't give up points until the last 2 games.

From 1913-1914 Auburn gave up a total of 13 points and didn't lose a game. Not bad for back-to-back years.

We also ran a 7-2-2 defense back then

I don't know if WG said that, but I can easily see where it could be claimed. I think the final polls had us at either #2 or #3, even though Georgia was undefeated and untied and the closest teams to Georgia (Notre Dame and Army, I believe) had ties.
