How many times has LSU vs Bama been a 1 vs 2 or top 5 match up or top 10? I wonder if it is more than Allburnt or UT?

Probably not that often. Historically UA would have held their end up much better than LSU. I would think UA/UT has the most, easily.

Well this is the 3rd time in a row but not too many others. Bear beat Mac when LSU was undefeated a few times so this might be the 4th or 5th time.

It's getting to the point where I think its going to be a top 5 matchup more often than not in the coming years though. This will be a full blown rivalry in 10 years if things stay the same.

I know one year in the early 2000's it was a top ten match up in Bama which LSU won in ot. I also think 2010 was a top ten meeting but not sure.
Late 1990's when Shaun Alexander broke the single game rushing record in tiger stadium was a top ten match. 1986 and 1987 might of been as well but that is as far back as my memory goes.

I agree, I think some of it is Alabama traditional rivals kinda sucking right now. If they keep sucking it might be sooner than that.

Let's see, 1969...maybe when Scott Hunter was QB of the Tide, LSU beat them 17-15 at Tiger stadium...then the Bear switched to the Wishbone and even though LSU had Ronnie Estay, Tommy Cassonova, Bert Jones, that Wishbone was awesome, expecially during the Johnny Musso days....

In 1996 Alabama was 7-1 and LSU was 6-1.
In 2005 Alabama was 9-0 and LSU was 7-1.
In 2009 Alabama was 8-0 and LSU was 7-1.
In 2010 Alabama was 7-1 and LSU was 7-1.
In 2011 Alabama was 8-0 and LSU was 8-0.

The most recent match-ups when both teams were good.

Not that many, because historically LSU hasn't been ranked in the top 5 that often.
