I don't expect anything to come of the stuff swirling around Ole Miss. The last five years something like this happens once or twice and nothing ever pans out from it…

Let's make a list.

1) Cam Newton (Auburn)
2) HBO 4 (Auburn)
3) DJ Fluker (Alabama)
4) Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (Alabama)

Feel free to add to it...

How high will the list get?

Oklahoma state had a huge write-up in Yahoo that literally went no where.

The first half of our game against Rice sucked in 2013.

Not recruiting but NCAA related.

Dez Bryant and AJ Green both missed significant time for irrelevant things but they were both cleared retroactively

Negative

quote:

Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant will remain suspended for the remainder of the football season for lying to NCAA investigators.

The NCAA ruled Tuesday that the junior All-American will not be eligible to play until September 2010, possibly bringing his college career to an end if he enters the NFL draft.

Bryant said he's disappointed in the NCAA's decision to keep him ineligible for the rest of the 2009 season.

If the stepfather is actually giving the NCAA inside information about Tunsil's recruitment, it would already be different than some of those cases

The HBO 4 basically never cooperated with the NCAA and people close to Cam never turned against him either as far as I know

Yeah, the SEC school with the most infractions all time did nothing. State may have, but I assure you your beloved Tigers did also, and don't give me nothing was proven blah, blah, blah. The NCAA is a bunch of pantywaists.

The Miami and UNC investigations/exposures seemed huge butnothing much came of either one. The ncaa has lost its teeth.

Yeah because it is so hard to believe that when given a choice between Auburn and possibly the worst SEC football program of all time Cam or any other player would decide to go to Auburn

Ohio State had postseason eligibility stripped for less than any of the aforementioned.

The difference was the legal investigation. The NCAA had hard evidence.

Auburn was really tearing it up the years prior. Also, is it that hard to think he might want to play for a former coach?

BowlJackson baited you well, don't let this thread devolve into another Cam thread. Only Auburn fans enjoy it.

Nothing much? Miami got hit fairly hard but it could have been much worse had the NCAA investigators not botched & contaminated the original case. That's why the Canes are down right now due to lose of scholarships. UNC got off pretty light but they had several high profile players lose their eligibility. Plus as of just a few weeks ago, they are once again in the cross hairs of the NCAA.

North Carolina's NCAA notice of allegations includes five severe charges.

The NCAA enforcement staff alleges the University of North Carolina committed five severe violations from 2002-2011, including a lack of institutional control of its athletic department.

North Carolina received the notice Wednesday, May 20.
Two allegations are related to impermissible benefits tied to academics, and two allegations involve members of the African and Afro-American Studies department violating the NCAA principles of ethical conduct by not assisting with the NCAA investigation.

"We take the allegations the NCAA made about past conduct very seriously," UNC Chancellor Carol L. Folt and Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham said in a statement. "This is the next step in a defined process, and we are a long way from reaching a conclusion. We will respond to the notice using facts and evidence to present a full picture of our case. Although we may identify some instances in the NCAA's notice where we agree and others where we do not, we are committed to continue pursuing a fair and just outcome for Carolina.

Auburn went 42-9 between 2004-2007 with one undefeated season, one SEC championship, one outright western division championship, and another co- western division division championship. Feel free to list all the equal 4 year stretches in Moo State's entire history.

Auburn had also won or tied for the western division championship 6 or 7 times in the 18 years it had been around before Cam. Mississippi State has won or tied for the west once or maybe twice even today
