How many games will Tennessee need to win in 2015 to live up to the hype?

Let's get Tennessee fans on the record so when they underachieve based on the hype in 2015 we can make sure they aren't pimping their season.

Bowling Green
Oklahoma
Western Carolina
@ Florida
Arkansas
Georgia
@ Alabama
@ Kentucky
South Carolina
North Texas
@ Missouri
Vanderbilt

IMO they have to go 9-3 against this schedule to live up to the hype. Anything less than that is a failure regardless of what Tennessee fans say.

With that schedule, they'll be lucky to win 7 games.

8-4 would be the minimum it would take to satisfy the majority of the fanbase, 9-3 would be awesome, anything above that Butch gets COY.

Gotta break the streak against at least one of UF Bama and UGA

There is hype, and there is realistic expectation.

A revitalized Tennessee, by any honest account, is in the third tier of the SEC. Tenn and Arkansas are fighting to stay up in that category, and hence that game is going to be crucial for both.

At least 8 and to not get face fricked by Bama for the 9th year in a row?

Bowling Green - 95% win probability
Oklahoma - 55% win probability
Western Carolina - 100% win probability
@ Florida - 50% win probability
Arkansas - 55% win probability
Georgia - 45% win probability
@ Alabama - 10% win probability
@ Kentucky - 80% win probability
South Carolina - 75% win probability
North Texas - 100% win probability
@ Missouri - 40% win probability
Vanderbilt - 95% win probability

I have them favored in 9 games above but 8-4 based on the averages of the win probability

Honestly, I cannot find more than 7 wins on that schedule.

9-3 to live up to the hype, 8-4 to satisfy realistic fans expectations, 7-5 to start a coaching search.

That's reasonable, and about where most UT fans expectations lie, including mine. However, according to this board, we are predicting a undefeated Natty season.

We wouldn't start a coaching search after 7-5, that just wouldn't happen

Why not? You fired Dooley for about the same results

If Butch goes 7-5, thats 5-7, 6-6, 7-5 in 3 seasons. Not that much better than Dooley despite having more talent and a weaker SEC East.

I would trade Arky in a heartbeat for a rematch with the Rebals

Yes, caught us in a down period. Lucky you.

I would LOVE to meet Ole Miss in Atlanta. You clowns would be wishing it was TCU again.

WAIT....Ole Miss....meet in Atlanta? Sorry, forgot who I was talking to. Ole Miss never makes the SECCG.

Improvement, slow but steady. Dools went 6-7 5-7 5-7.

Because we've had 3 coaches in the past 6 years, the last thing we need is to burn it up and get another one. Butch is light years ahead of Dooley in recruiting, likeability, X and O's (still unproven, but still better than Dools), player relationships, alumni relationships, fan support, etc. We're on an upswing, it'd be ridiculous to fire him if we went 7-5. I wouldn't be happy with 7-5, but it's not enough to fire him. It'd have to be in the 5-7 range to start looking IMO.

The same thing we've been saying all off season, little dick.

8-4 to 9-3

You've been good at taking the hype that ESPN, Lindys, Athlons, SDS, Phil Steele, CBS, etc. are publishing and then claiming Tennessee fans are the ones saying it. We've been saying the same thing since the bowl game in January. 8-4 to 9-3

Now, on to the real question. When are you publishing your annual haiku thread? We all really look forward to reading it.

To live up to the hype? They better be in Atlanta first week in December.

Realistically? They'll be lucky to get 8 wins with that schedule.
