One Dooley is enough. He won't be coming to Georgia.

If Tennessee wins 7 these next two years, Dooley is probably out, and he should be.

How loyal do UT fans expect him to be to the program? I'm asking this as legit curiosity not out of smack. I wouldn't expect him to do a Kiffin-like jump ship type crap but perhaps some other big school comes a calling.

I don't see him leaving unless he thinks his job at Tennessee is in jeopardy. I don't see any big school coming for him until he proves he can win, and once he does, I don't think he'll really see much point in leaving unless he simply hates Knoxville.

I hear he's at odds with the AD so that might be cause enough to leave.

Disagree. If he gets 7 this year, that is a damn good coaching job. Vols are still a year away from making noise again.

A lot will depend on the new AD.

7 this year would be fine. 7 next year would be between bad and awful.

Whoever your hearing that from is an idiot. The AD quit. So, there isn't one to be at odds with.

Reality checks are hard on the once proud. But, Tenn is in no position to jettison a HC over 7 or 8 wins this or next Fall. Ya'll are gonna have to let DD grow into the job. Bowling and landing some quality classes should suffice for now.

Tenn in 2011 isn't your daddy's Tenn! Nor his dad's..nor his dad's nor his dad's!

I agree 100%

under.
I think the first time he gets over .500 in the SEC he will bolt for a job where the school doesnt require the students to get a 27 on the ACT.

He will either never get over .500 and get fired for it, or, like I said, the very first time he does, he will exchange whatever goodwill he has for a job where football comes ahead of academics,
AND ideally, in a state where they have at least 40 Rivals recruits every year on the state rivals page. He is in deep doodoo, trying to recruit out of state at the same time that Louisville and Cincinnati are now both in the Big East ( instead of the C-USA or Missouri Valley). Cincinnati is going to get some of those southern Ohio guys. Louisville is going to get some hometown guys. UTe is out of luck. They are scrabbling for Georgia's leftovers vs Georgia Tech.

Too early to tell. However, knowing he has had a losing record three of his for seasons as a head coach.....I am going to take under.

Under. There's a good shot that Tennessee is preseason top 5-8 next year, and have expectations to win the East and contend for an SEC Title and National Title. IMO UT won't win more than 8 games next year. I just don't see the quality depth there.

I don't quite understand. The only way Tennessee is preseason top 5 or so next year is if they win at least 9 this year, in which case I don't understand why you wouldn't expect them to win more than 8.

I think UT wins 7-9 this year, and they could quite possibly have the highest amount of returning starters next year, which could be a setup for a top 10 start next year.

You may be right, but I don't think 7 wins would get them that kind of ranking. I'd say it would take at least 8-4 with a bowl win.

IMO dooley is the Mike Shula of Tenn. I think they'll struggle for a few years then make a big hire for a comeback.

President? I heard everything he asked for was shot down. I'll look for the thread.
