Until he leaves or gets fired?

Probably the latter....

*Edit
BTW...that was not a flame. I was just saying I don't think there are to many jobs out there that he would leave for...thus if he leaves it will be because he was fired...

I like Dooley and think he will succeed if given the time and support. I'll say over, but things can change quickly in college football, so who knows?

He'll have the support. The time just depends on what he shows.

I think over. There is probably a good chance that he will be Athletic Directer one day, based on the rapid turnover in that position at UT.

Under but he'll leave a good foundation of talent for the next coach when he takes over ala Zook and Dinardo.

Sounds possible.

If he is fired after 2012, the next coach may be able to step in and win immediatley.

I think after the 2012 season is over a lot of people will have a different opinion of Dooley.

I'll take the under. Don't see him getting too many signature victories or making any SECCG over UF, UGA or even USC. If he can't do that and a big name coach becomes available, I could see a change.

There's been too much instability at Tenn in Foots and Hoops HCs over these last years..

Think Dooley's intelligence, class, family, and work pedigree, will keep him at Tenn for at least four or five years, even if not winning the East.

If he bowls and recruits well enough to win 7, 8, or 9 yearly, think Tenn Prez, AD, and Volnation, let him try grow into the job.

I think Dooley is a true team manager. He's smart and everything he does has a purpose. I think we can win 9 games this year if we are firing on all cylinders and have no set backs. However, 7 or 8 wins is more realistic and I won't be upset with that result if we lose competitively.

I believe Dooley will be here +4.5 years because he's done a good job of convincing the admin and university to buy in to what he's selling.

Ultimately though, his job rides on the retention of his coaching staff. If he can keep this group together I truly believe they'll do great thing here. Their doors have been knocking and Im not sure how long we can hang on to them.

I was thinking something like that, but maybe year 6 instead of 5.

How loyal do UT fans expect him to be to the program? I'm asking this as legit curiosity not out of smack. I wouldn't expect him to do a Kiffin-like jump ship type crap but perhaps some other big school comes a calling.

Reality checks are hard on the once proud. But, Tenn is in no position to jettison a HC over 7 or 8 wins this or next Fall. Ya'll are gonna have to let DD grow into the job. Bowling and landing some quality classes should suffice for now.

Tenn in 2011 isn't your daddy's Tenn! Nor his dad's..nor his dad's nor his dad's!
