How long before a 4-team becomes an 8-team playoff

I say four years until the clamoring by fans and sportswriters to include other deserving teams forces a move to 8 teams.

I give it 3 yrs. Ive been saying since the 4 team play was announced it will be short lived

They should keep the BCS games as the play off games. Add 3 more. 2 semi final games and 1 championship game

2-3 years tops. Too much bitching from legit contenders in the 5-8 range.

I'd say 2 or 3 years for them to start talking about it but 6 or 7 before it starts b/c the SEC/Big12/Big10 will purposely drag their feet as they wait to eat up the schools they want from the ACC.

I get the 4 team playoff but why did they create a selection committee. That's BS. Does that mean 5-10 old farts are going to sit in a room and try to make a fair selection? Does anyone think that will be better than the BCS calcuation? I don't.
But to answer your question I would hope its 10 years. A full blown playoff will ruin CF.

Considering it is a committee picking the teams. They will never let more than 2 SEC teams in. If 3 make it once, it is only because they have no choice but to put 3 in. I personally think it will usually be no more than 1 SEC team due to all the anti-SEC bias
To the OP, I don't think it can be changed for the life of the contract. I do hope after that runs out, some changes are made. The way this 4 team playoff is setup it will be worse than the current BCS system
