Mizzou's DLine is going to be sick again this year.

DT: Brantley was projected to be a 1st round pick this year until a car accident caused him to miss the entire season. Assuming there are no set backs, I anticipate more of the same from him.

The upside to that is now him and Terry Beckner Jr will get to play together for a season.

Still at DT is Hatley and Augusta, both who had been starters....until Brantley and Beckner got on campus and got healthy. And you still have Moore and Logan who have played and all the guys who came in behind them and redshirted last year.

At DE, Harris is just a driven beast. He will be the next in line at DE at Mizzou. Somewhat overshadowed by Harris, Brady quietly became a freshman all American. And there's depth at DE this year with at least 3 other returners back again.

Brantley(assuming health), Beckner, Harris and Brady are the names to watch for though.

Yep, still think so.

Been following recruiting all year. LBs are a different story, but we have better DL signees. Most people that follow recruiting would agree with me too. Its not a giant gap, but we got more guys and they are just as talented.... I mean we don't have someone thats 375, which is apparently your prerequisite for success, but we got some studs.

As other UT fans have said, our DL will be our best in over a decade.
Even if Tuttle isn't fully recovered from that cheap shot bullshite from the uga lineman, his backup Danny O'Brien is a guy who started as a RS soph and Vickers made an impact as a backup last year.

Our DEs are proven playmakers and veterans. And we have depth with Kyle Phillips, Kongbo, Darrell Taylor, LaTroy Lewis, and Mixon.

Looks like several teams are going to have solid to elite Dlines. It is going to be a scary year for all the new QBs in the SEC

Why are you still using recruiting rankings for third year players?

How did Mack play last year? He's going to be a good one. I really wanted him.

A DL doesn't play by itself but is part of a scheme. That said, LSU is probably going to be improved this year.. but where are the all-SEC DL players at LSU? Who on the LSU roster playing NT, DT, or DE is in ... say ... the best 4 players at that position in the conference? I don't see any.

And without depth and proven SEC level ability at LB, the front may be less than elite. But time will tell, and perhaps development will produce a cohesive unit and the DBs can reinforce the run defense some.

1st round draft pick written all over him
Maybe so, maybe not.. but he will be a true sophomore this year after playing so-so in 2015.

What seems to be odd is that just about every starting player on LSU's roster is going to be a "first round draft pick." The fans of no other team wax so lyrical about this shite ... Alabama fans are especially quiet about "first round draft picks," probably because they have a better understanding of the national talent-ocean rather than just paying attention to "the bayou-sized" talent pool.

Pretty good thoughts...

On Brantly, I've heard his weight is way down and that he's slowly building it back up. I think there's a chance he could play end some, in addition to DT. Maybe DE in a 3-4 lineup, or DT in the 4-3, as something similar to the old "candy" formations and the such that Mizzou's ran in the past. Those are when they line up three, or even four DE's on the line in obvious passing situations and sit the true DT's.

Beckner Jr., who has been reinstated, did injure his knee late last season. I'd be surprised if he's ready to go any time prior to summer, but he should be a go for fall camp.

Mix those two, with the bear Augusta, and you have a nice three man rotation inside. That's also not accounting for AJ Logan & Hatley who are more depth guys at this point.

Ends will be a strength. Led by Charles Harris, who received a 2cd round draft grade, they will be really, really good. I also really like Brady, he was fantastic as a freshman, but Mizzou also has quality depth at end. Marcell Frazier played a lot and could jump Brady as a starter. There's also Josh Mooere, who played some - he could also grow into a DT, and another, Nate Howard who showed blazing quickness in limited action last fall. Both the last two will be sophomores and will provide quality depth.

I don't expect any newcomers to make an impact this fall.

He was inconsistent but definitely flashed potential. Got called for a lot of false starts but also blew up some plays in the backfield (I think he was 3rd in TFL behind Garrett and Hall). He should benefit a lot from a full offseason of development

LSU had 4 players with 5+ sacks, which is more than any team in the conference. Two of them were underclassmen.

Serious question....Do you try to be wrong all the time or is it an unintended consequence of you being a complete dumbass?
