Especially in comparison to Ole Miss coaches that came before and after him.

He's only behind Neyland, Saban, and Bryant imo

He had the best win% of all other coaches from 1950 - 1970.

Very good, couldn't adapt to integration/platoon play.

All time he's in the Les Miles tier

what are you so upset about

FYI Les had a better winning % at LSU than JV did at Ole Miss.

6 SEC titles at Ole Miss is like 24 anywhere else.

John Vaught built a national powerhouse from scratch. He is among the top three or four SEC coaches ever. Miles isn't even close. He deserves credit however for not screwing up the program that Saban built too badly.

As a product of his time, Vaught was an elite coach. I was a student during some of his best seasons (58-61), when his success created the illusion that Ole Miss football would always compete for trophies.

Vaught was a winner because he worked hard and recruited the gritty farm boys who were necessary to win, at a time when the fan base still thought of football as a prep school sport. The culture clash ultimately wore him down.

I've been wanting to ask you for a long time man but I don't wanna start a thread to do it. Are you the same Summer Of George that used to post on Rivals.com Volquest back around 2004-2007?
