Is there a recent group (any team) they are similar to?

Don't know. Jalen Mills is the answer to the nickel (where they have seem to be their weakest). Hasn't been back long enough to be able to tell.

Struggling with the new scheme and our 2nd CB is a freshmen.

Not forcing many turn overs and not forcing QBs to throw in tight coverage. Also give up big plays time to time.

I think it has to do a lot with our smothering run defense.

White isn't spectacular, but he is very good and tends to hold his spot well. Tolliver has been lights out as a true freshman...until last night. He finally had a bad game. Same for Ricky Jefferson. He had been a really pleasant surprise in Mills' absence, but he got worked over worse than anyone last night. Adams is great in run support and blitzing. Just ok in pass coverage.

Dwayne Thomas has been the biggest disappointment this far, but it may be that he just isn't fully recovered or isn't the same after his knee injury last year. He actually made some plays last night, but he has been picked on all season. The backups are not on par with past LSU teams.

Getting Mills back will be a HUGE boost, because it gives the defense a third legit one on one cover guy. He will play a ton once he's healthy.

If the starters stay healthy and the D Line continues to improve generating pressure, the secondary should bounce back from last night. But, we are a couple of injuries from a legit nightmare.

Talent is elite with Jalen Mills in there, but they've missed assignments and made lots of mental errors this year.

Hopefully just taking time to learn new DC changes or something. Tre White Id as sticky as they come at CB and Jamal Adams is a 1st round draft pick kind of player.

Ricky Jefferson is a solid tackler and in run support, as is Dwayne Thomas, but both have had serious issues in coverage, especially Thomas.

Toliver is an all-world talent but a true frosh and still learning the speed of the game. But he's huge and we aren't afraid to put him on top WRs.

Super talented. All starters plus important backups are middle to upper NFL talents. Had a hard time keeping it together in zone, especially when protecting big leads. Free safety - a senior - has been injured. Florida game was his first action. He should be a stabilizing influence. They'll be on point vs Bama.

I expect our defense to win vs your offense. Your defense should control our running game. The game will be decided by how well Harris handles Bama's pressure and which team's shite-show of a special teams screws up worse.
