I've a feeling he'll climb all the way to number two, barring something unforeseen. It should be noted that Walker, Jackson and Alexander's numbers were in the 11-game regular season only.

11 game season and Hershel still had 385 carries

thats an insane work load. Average 35 carries a game.

Wow, I did not realize Tre Mason had that good of a year in 2013.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but it made me realize that if Henry plays 4 more games he may very well have the SEC single season rushing record. It would've taken 15 games, but a record is a record.

Had a down game or 2, but for the season he is currently 13th in the SEC all-time (single seaon) with 1 game plus a bowl left remaining.

You need to add the number of games to the list. Herschel's records are in 11 games only. Most of those are in 12 plus a bowl. LF will only have 11 reg season and a bowl if he doesn't miss any time for injury in last two games.

Which is why these records should be yards/game rather than total.

It will eventually be who has the best team, because an average back could get 2000 with 15 (or 16 games if we expand to an 8-team playoff, which seems likely). 160+ yards/game over a season is insane.

What year did they move to the 12 game regular season format? Also, what year did bowl game stats start counting in records?

He could conceivably get 220 against aTm to get to 1800. Figuring LSU won't be playing a top 10 defense in the bowl 2000 is possible. Realistically I think he could be the SEC's single season rushing leader. In which case he should win the Heisman.
